4 reasons why your vehicle needs a checkup now

Since the community quarantine in most parts of the Philippines has been eased to general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), many business establishments like offices, malls, restaurants, beach, tourist spots, and other leisure centers have reopened. By and large though, many of us have been locked down in our homes for months, so a lot of us are planning to unwind for a while, especially this holiday season.

But hold on: Medical experts are cautioning us from going out, mingling with other people outside our "bubble." Always keep this in mind even as we go about our errands.

Having said that, even as we look after our health, it is also necessary for our vehicles to undergo a checkup first to assure our safety as we go on the road. Ford Philippines helps us along by listing four reasons why now is the best time to have your car checked.

The previously scheduled checkup had already passed.

Periodic maintenance service (PMS) has always been recommended by car companies to guarantee that the efficiency of the vehicle’s power and safety features are sustained. If you booked an appointment for the past months, you had surely skipped it due to the community quarantine protocols. You better catch up on your missed appointment as soon as possible to make sure that the vehicle is still properly maintained.

Ford Philippines now offers a package of up to five years of PMS for every purchase of selected models with its Ford Scheduled Service Plan (SSP). This payment plan is convenient nowadays as this will prevent direct contact from other people since it will not require you to perform a payment transaction for every maintenance visit.

The car was not used for the past months.

To protect ourselves from the virus, we were encouraged to stay at home for a couple of months when the country was still under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). Now that the lockdown has been brought down to GCQ and MGCQ, some companies are requiring their employees to work back on site. Malls and other leisure services are also back in operation.

Before heading out with your trusty car, make sure to have it checked first since it was stuck in your garage for months. It is not really advisable to regularly drive the car right away after being idle for a long period of time. Bring your car to an authorized dealer and have them assess the engine, battery, brake, and tires to ensure a safe and hassle-free drive.

With Ford’s Premium Extended Warranty Service (EW), your purchased vehicle is entitled for an up to five-year or a 150,000-km warranty which includes engine, transmission, steering, brakes, front suspensions, and electrical parts repair services.

The vehicle was damaged by the recent calamities.

It’s safe to say that 2020 is definitely not the best year for everyone because aside from the current pandemic, a series of natural calamities were also experienced in different parts of the country. The flooding caused by the typhoons last November was an  impactful tragedy with billions of pesos worth of damage to infrastructure, crops, and including automobile.

If your car was damaged by the typhoon, have it immediately checked up to prevent any lasting damage that may affect the vehicle’s overall performance over the course of time.

Ford has made sure that its car technicians are well-trained for flood-related damage to provide an adequate repair and maintenance service to its units.

The car will be used on your out-of-town trip for the holidays.

We usually go on a holiday trip to take a break from stress so imagine if your car acts up in the middle of a long drive. Enjoy a fuss-free vacation by having a car checkup to ensure that your vehicle is as ready as you are for that beach trip or down time.

For a quick and urgent assistance in the event of a car malfunction on the road, Ford car owners can utilize its 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance Program.

A simple thing as having your car checked is important because a well-maintained vehicle can spare you from undesirable situations. Visit your Ford dealership or the official Ford Philippines website to know more about its maintenance service offers.
