5 sights and activities to look forward to at the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival 2023
As part of its 35th anniversary celebration, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will be holding the biggest Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) gathering in the country at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on August 23 to 24, 2023.
The TGR Festival 2023 will not only honor the passion for cars and racing, but will also be Toyota’s treat to its valued customers who have shown their support to the brand throughout the years.
Here are five things that Toyota, TGR, and motorsports fans can look forward to at the two-day festival:
Drifting and gymkhana exhibitions
Spectators will also witness the Toyota GR Supra, Toyota GR Yaris, and Toyota GR 86 in action through the exhibitions that will be performed by Filipino racers Alex Perez and Luis Gono, as well as TGR Ambassador Marlon Stockinger and actor and TV host Ryan Agoncillo.
Shotgun rides
Attendees of this year’s TGR Festival will also have a chance to ride shotgun on TGR’s performance cars, allowing them to experience the products that paved the way for Toyota to develop ever-better cars.
TGR GT Cup Philippines 2023 National Finals
The top sim racers of the 2023 TGR Gran Turismo Cup will battle it out at the National Finals which will be held live on the second day of the TGR Festival.
Eight e-racers—namely Russel Reyes, Jether Lugo Miole, Matthew Spencer Ang, Mark Elman, Luis Moreno, Topher Tejada, Estefano Rivera, and Bob Villangca—will face off to determine who will represent the Philippines at the Asia Regional Rounds, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
GR merchandise
Official GR merchandise will also be displayed and available for sale at the GR Garage. Lucky attendees may also win these items during the raffles at the event!
Performances from OPM artists
To make the event even more exciting, live performances will be provided by some of the most notable OPM artists. On August 23, P-pop boy group BGYO will open this year’s TGR Festival. Performances from OPM legend Ely Buendia and folk-pop band Ben&Ben will further liven up the festivities. On August 24, rock bands Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee will give back-to-back performances to heighten the thrill of the event.
