As expected, April Fools pranks or goofs can range from cringe-inducing to funny or even painful.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What did BMW post for its 2025 April Fools prank?
BMW showed off the “M2 Dakar” for its 2025 April Fools Prank. When is April Fools celebrated?
April Fools is celebrated on April 1 every year. Some pranks, which are shared (or posted on the internet) on the dot on April 1 every year, are mostly considered good-natured and silly and are always welcomed by folks who encounter them. Other examples exist as “conversation drivers” with a side of humor. Also, very few are painful because a great many will prefer for it to come true.
The aforementioned, of course, mostly holds true in the car and motorcycle industry, especially for this year. So, without further ado, here are the best April Fools pranks that were posted by a number of automotive and motorcycle brands on the internet.
Suzuki Slimny
Without a doubt, the Suzuki Jimny is a global phenomenon. As most folks already know, it is a highly capable off-roader despite its relatively miniscule size. It is also quite affordable for many car buyers, especially when compared to other 4x4 sport utility vehicles currently present in the local market.

Despite the SUV’s proven capabilities, however, good-natured Suzuki knows how to poke fun at itself. As such, its Australian arm has posted the “Slimny” on its social media pages. In a nutshell, it is a thin-looking, two-wheeled version of the beloved SUV nameplate. The aforementioned is hinted at by its name, which is a portmanteau of “Jimny” and “slim.”
Per Suzuki Australia, the weird creation is a “collaboration between Suzuki Motorcycles and Suzuki Automobiles.” It is also dubbed as the “first two-wheel four-wheel drive” that can fit in corridors.
Hyundai Mobilet
Ever imagine having the ability to go to the loo while on the go? Or rather - drive your loo? Well, that’s exactly what Hyundai envisioned with the “Mobilet” - a very futuristic-looking portalet on wheels.

With its design, the South Korean car brand hinted that the said motorized toilet doubles as a fully electric car. It sounds hilarious, but then again, Hyundai claims that the April Fools prank still tracks with its vision of “Progress for Humanity.” The need to go number one or number two, after all, is a basic need, regardless of who you are.
Interestingly enough, the imaginative prank from Hyundai goes above and beyond as it is said to be equipped with a facial recognition system for easy access, an aroma diffuser, and a stealth mode to “disguise its exterior, ensuring users’ public reputations remain intact.”
Honda’s catnip seats
While the last two are quite nutty as far as April Fools' pranks go, the one from Honda is cute.
In a nutshell, the Japanese brand said that it has come up with a manufacturing technology that allowed it to infuse car seat foam inserts with catnip. The result is a less stressful car ride for our furry feline friends.
Harley Davidson Lawn Shredder
For this year’s April Fools, a number of Harley Davidson dealerships in the United States have posted the release of the Lawn Shredder.

It wasn’t made clear, but the motorcycle brand’s Cape Cod and Reno-based outlets shared that it is the “most badass lawnmower ever built.” And, of course, we concur since the social media posts actually depict an FXDR fitted with a grass-cutting attachment.
Per the said post, it's for riders who are “itching to ride” but have to deal with an overgrown lawn.
Kawasaki’s “brake-by-voice”
One of the more bizarre April Fools pranks a brand has posted this year is Kawasaki UK’s “brake-by-voice” system.
Per the brand’s social media post, the said system will make your ride look cleaner and sleeker as it eliminates the need for brake cables. For it to activate, you only need to say, “Hey, Kawasaki, brake.”
We won’t go much into how loony this idea is, but we can imagine that you’d actually have to yell the activation phrase especially while on a sport bike.
BMW M2 Dakar
For this year’s April Fools, BMW made waves on the internet when it released information about the “M2 Dakar.”

To keep it short, it is an off-road-spec ride in the same vein as the Porsche 911 Dakar. The aforementioned means a more robust version of the BMW M2 Coupe with a raised suspension system, a wider track width, off-road tires, and a proper set of underbody protection.
Sounds rad, but sadly, the brand’s website clearly points out from the get-go that the M2 Dakar is a prank. Understandably, many fans of the brand bemoaned the non-existence of the aforementioned car as it could have been an exhilarating vehicle.

As said above, the BMW M2 Dakar, at least for many Bimmer fans, is one of those painful pranks that many wished was true.
