Battle of affordable SUVs: Suzuki XL7 vs. Toyota Rush
As a newcomer in the sports utility vehicle (SUV) scene in the country, the Suzuki XL7 did not fail to give a good impression to car browsers and buyers as it is well-equipped with outstanding features.
To see if this recently launched Suzuki vehicle measures up with the current SUVs in the Philippine market, we compare it to one of the best-sellers in this category: the Toyota Rush.
Although these two SUVs are produced by two different Japanese car brands, the Suzuki XL7 and Toyota Rush have very similar attributes.
Both vehicles sport a muscular and polished look that makes them ready to take action in any adventure. When it comes to dimensions, the Suzuki XL7 is a little bit bigger. The Toyota Rush is available in six bold colors, while the Suzuki XL7 comes in five body hues.
These two SUVs boasts modern interior features. They are equipped with numerous cabin compartments where you can conveniently store your handy essentials. Both vehicles also provide expandable cargo space if ever you need to bring more cargo along.
When it comes to entertainment, the Suzuki XL7 offers a more advanced audio system which is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
As for performance, both vehicles use fuel-efficient 1.5-liter engines. The Suzuki XL7 delivers a maximum power output of 103hp at 6,000rpm and a maximum torque of 138Nm at 4,400rpm. Meanwhile, the engine of Toyota Rush produces an output of up to 102hp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of up to 134Nm at 4,200 rpm.
To heighten the Suzuki XL7’s performance on the road, it is constructed with a firm Heartect platform which gives it a smoothly curving frame that is also capable of enhancing collision protection.
To guarantee the safety of the occupants, both the Suzuki XL7 and Toyota Rush are both equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD) function. Adding to Suzuki XL7’s safety technologies are the electronic stability program (ESP), hill hold control, and rear parking sensors. On the other hand, the Toyota Rush has a vehicle stability control feature which comes with traction control, hill start assist, and emergency stop signal.
