Check out the Toyota GR Yaris' sole trim in PH

News of the incoming Toyota GR Yaris has surfaced not too long ago. Thanks to a teaser posted by the Japanese carmaker’s local subsidiary, fans of the rally-bred nameplate were excited about the arrival of the souped-up hatchback’s latest iteration — which could happen anytime soon. 

Homologation documents from the Land Transportation Office confirm that the 2025 Toyota GR Yaris will be available in two variants, a manual and an automatic, unlike the supposedly outgoing model that is only available in a sole trim. 

So before its successor arrives, let’s take a look at the currently listed Toyota GR Yaris’ only variant on offer.

Exterior 

Outside, the Toyota GR Yaris sports an athletic look thanks to its Gazoo Racing (GR) genes. 

At the fore, it wears a large grille with a honeycomb pattern. Above it is a garnish with some slats where the Toyota emblem proudly sits. Flanking the grillework are clusters of lights, which include LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, and a pair of LED fog lamps. 

Onto its sides are a mix of contours and aggressive bodylines. They flow gracefully from the broad front fenders up to the wide hips of the hot hatch. 

Speaking of which, the wheel wells house 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels shod in 225/40 series tires. Contrasting the striking set of wheels are body-colored door handles as well as blacked-out pillars and side mirrors. 

At the back, the Toyota GR Yaris gets a noticeable roof-mounted spoiler with an integrated brake lamp, a pair of LED taillamps connected by a piano black garnish, a beefy bumper with dual exhaust pipes, and a pair of LED fog lamps.

Overall, the Toyota GR Yaris offers a unique package with an aerodynamically sound body and plenty of appointments that allow the vehicle to perform well on more challenging terrains without looking out of place on typical city thoroughfares. 

Interior 

The cabin of the Toyota GR Yaris has a wealth of sporty features. To start off, the driver is faced with a leather steering wheel with multi-functional controls. Past it is an instrument cluster that combines a 4.2-inch screen with large analog gauges. It is complemented by a 6.9-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. 

Adding sportiness to the cockpit are seats upholstered in suede and synthetic leather. Of course, they have decent bolstering and can keep the driver snugly in place, even in high-speed driving situations. 

Finally, it has an aluminum shift level with a leather boot, which helps give drivers that feeling of being one with the machine.
