Isuzu Crosswind – The Sales Boosting MPV By Isuzu

MANILA: Recently Isuzu, the renowned Japanese automaker, revealed its sales numbers achieved between January and April 2016 which were tremendous in comparison to the figures achieved last year during the same time period. Though the company has been listed on the 4th step of the ladder with Toyota leading the charts but the company is extremely excited on account of its personal growth. Well, Isuzu Philippines has a very exclusive passenger cars line-up for its customers with an MPV, a pickup and an SUV, i.e., Crosswind, D-Max and mu-X in tow. Well, with just 3 drives in the entire fleet, this brand has achieved a jump of 37.5 percent in the first four months of this year than last year, which is truly commendable. We have read the sales report issued by the manufacturer in this context and are amazed to know that the credit for these sky-high sales goes to the Isuzu Crosswind MPV. In April 2016, 479 units of Crosswind were sold while between January and April 2016, this figure was 1,562 units from the overall sales of 8,798 units of passenger and commercial vehicles.

What makes this MPV so popular is a big question. Let's analyze it and find if this drive truly worths this much of popularity which it possesses or it's just overrated by the customers -

Trims and Prices

Though Isuzu Crosswind is an MPV but with its stance and styling, it looks moreover like an SUV. Completing this front fascia is the well-crafted headlight cluster with halogen projector lamps. The dual-toned bumper with skid plate ensures that minor bumps may be absorbed. The bumper has large air dam for smooth airflow leading to enhanced efficiency of the engine. Though the front may look a little boxy and conventional, but the overall robust stance and sporty appeal make this drive a big hit. The overall dimensions of this drive worth 4735-4480 mm x 1680-1770 mm x 1830-1900 mm (L X W X H) across the trims along with same wheelbase measuring to 2680 mm.

This interior is well-packed with numerous aspects which make it a passenger-friendly cabin ensuring comfort and convenience of the occupants. The intelligently designed dashboard of this drive carries all the gauges and meters necessary to make your drives comfortable. The advanced dual-zone climate control system comes with curtain vents which keep the entire cabin comfortable and fresh throughout your drives. For more convenience of the occupants, keyless entry function is also provided. The absolutely comfortable and supportive seats are either wrapped with fabric or leather upholstery, depending on the trim. Along with comforting factors, the manufacturer has ensured the onboard entertainment of the occupants in mind and so a decent facility has been provided. This system comprises of Philips Single In-Dash CD player, MP3, JPG playback, USB connectivity and AUX compatibility. To complete this facility, 6/4 speakers are given in this drive depending on the trim. Apart from enough space in the cabin for all 7 passengers, Crosswind comes with practical space for their luggage and handy stuff also.

The Power-Unit

This engine is capable of knocking out 85 PS of high power at 3900 rpm along with 185 Nm of high torque at 2000 rpm. While the engine is in compliance with Euro-2, it comes mingled with manual and automatic both transmissions. This sole engine is not only decently efficient in terms of power but also in sipping fuel. In standard conditions, it delivers a fuel economy of 9.7 kmpl which is quite decent in its segment.

Safety On Priority

Safety

Isuzu, this Japanese brand takes the safety of the passengers in its drive very seriously and to ensure the same in Crosswind, it has loaded this drive with a number of features. There are side door impact beams to absorb the impact energy after a crash or hit, reverse sensing system so that you may park this big drive with ease and confidence even in cramped parking space and high mount stop lamp for visibility of the vehicles running behind yours. Some features are available only in the top-notch trims, i.e., the Sportivo X variant only.

Well, all these details of Isuzu Crosswind clearly depict the reasons which make this drive so popular among the Filipinos. Talk about the robust structure which gives a power packed stance from distance or comforting cabin, this drive is pretty good with all of them. Though some features are available only in the high-end variant but then with so many standard features in hand, who cares for additional ones. The prices are also pretty competitive in the segment and to attract more, Isuzu always comes up with promos and discounts which work as a booster to increase the sales of this absolutely practical and multi-utility drive.
