Revolutionizing Fuel Efficiency with Changan BlueCore Engine
With the promise of a powerful, clean, and quiet driving experience, Changan BlueCore, introduced for the first time in 2011, ushered in a new era in Changan engine technology. In 2019, the BlueCore NE Platform was developed by Changan's research and development (R&D) team as a follow-up.
BlueCore NE adheres to current emission and fuel efficiency standards while maintaining its innovative design. This technical feat is the product of four years of collaborative work between 200 engineers at the Changan UK R&D Center and the Changan Power Research Institute in China.
BlueCore is considered as one of China's top 10 engines, and it powers the entire lineup of Changan models, including those that are currently offered in the Philippines.

Here's what makes it remarkable on the global market.
Powerful and reliable
The 1.5T engine of the 350 BAR Direct Gasoline Injection produces 3.0L power output with a maximum torque of 300Nm at 1,250rpm and 40% quicker dynamic response.
Every engine that Changan Automobile rolls out is put through over four million kilometers of testing, or 4,500 tests in 15 different categories, including environment, strength, and safety. This is done as part of the Changan Automobile Product Test and Verification System (CA-TVS), which ensures consistent performance. BlueCore was subjected to the most extreme conditions, including heights of 0 to 4,700 meters and temperatures ranging from 80° to -45°.
Changan BlueCore obtained a Guinness World Record for the longest live video broadcasting in 2020. The engine's dependability and stability were proven when it endured having to operate continuously for 259 hours at a steady speed of 5,500rpm and came out of the test with no evidence of wear or tear.
Here in the Philippines, the Changan CS35 Plus's 100,000-kilometer endurance run presents more validation of this. The then-new unit traveled from North to South of the Philippines for seven months through various weather and road conditions, clocking a total distance of 100,000 kilometers, equivalent to five years of use. This equates to traveling 54 kilometers per day or 29 and a half times from Laoag City to Zamboanga City, or around 20,000 kilometers per year. The Changan CS35 Plus powered by BlueCore was still in excellent condition after the rigorous drive and after receiving the recommended preventive maintenance service (PMS). Only the brake pads, oil, tires, wiper blades, and drive belt were changed.
Clean
BlueCore technology enhances combustion efficiency, reduces weight and power loss, and improves fuel delivery control and injection timing. This results in a 20% decrease in fuel consumption, which not only helps owners save money but also reduces harmful pollutants in the atmosphere by 40%.
In 2020, China topped the list of countries with the strictest vehicle emission standards because of the “China 6” rule. 2019 saw Changan BlueCore already being China 6-ready. As a key component of Changan's new energy strategy known as the Shangri-La Project, Changan BlueCore is being upgraded to conform to the stricter “China 6b” standards that will be put into effect in July.

Quiet
The compact, lightweight engine meets China's National Noise First-Class Evaluation Standard thanks to its 60.8dB idle noise, lower fuel consumption, and lower friction power consumption.
DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) technology, which pertains to transmission systems with two clutches for automatic or semi-automatic gearboxes, is used in some Changan vehicles. Separate clutches are used for odd and even gears, allowing for faster shifting, eliminating the need for torque converters, reducing emissions, and putting less strain on the engine.
