The Philippines has a bustling automotive industry and one of the most sought-after vehicles in the country are sedans.

On that note, we take a quick look at some of the best sedans one can buy here in the country.

Toyota Vios

The Toyota Vios is synonymous with the Filipino sedan segment, with a reach as far as markets for private passenger vehicles as well as those looking to enter the local transport sector.

On that note, you are more likely to see a Toyota Vios in the streets than you would any other car in the brand’s local roster.

The secret to its success is its wide trim variety as it is — at the time of writing — offered in 10 variants including the dressed-up Toyota Vios GR-S. Mitsubishi Mirage G4

The Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is yet another car that’s usually at the top of the list of many car buyers in the country. Considered as the successor of the Lancer nameplate in the Philippines, it offers a more compact body than the aforementioned Toyota Vios.

Now on its sixth generation, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 looks more aggressive and offers a bolder face for car buyers looking for a compact car with an attitude.

At its front is the latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Dynamic Shield front fascia. It also gets sharper-looking headlamps that complement the abundance of straight lines on the car’s front end.

To its side are simple side fenders accompanied by a black side mirror, black B-pillars, body-color door handles, as well as 15-inch alloy wheels finished in silver or black that are wrapped with 185/55 R-15 tires.

At the rear, the Mitsubishi Mirage G4 gets a stylish pair of taillamps, reflectors on each side, a diffuser, and a chrome garnish on the trunk handle.

Car buyers also consider the Nissan Almera when searching for a brand-new ride. The sedan makes for a great substitute for the discontinued Sentra.

The Nissan Almera received its recent update not too long ago, which allowed the car to wear the latest iteration of Nissan’s V-shaped grille. It also gets a new pair of LED headlamps, new LED taillamps, blacked-out side mirrors, and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.

Other notable features of the Nissan Almera include its available two-tone finish, reflectors on each side, and diffusers on the rear end of the vehicle.

Inside, the Nissan Almera comes with soft-touch materials with contrasting appliques on the dashboard. It also has a leather steering wheel with multifunctional controls, seats covered in leather, and a leather shifter.

Past the said steering wheel is a seven-inch instrument cluster with digital displays, as well as an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Under its hood is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine mated to either a five-speed manual or a CVT.

The Nissan Almera is priced from P839,000 to P1,149 million.
