Sleek and sophisticated: Spec-checking the new Peugeot 3008

Last month, Peugeot Philippines welcomed the new 3008 SUV as the newest addition to its lineup. Sleek, sophisticated, and inspiring, the new 3008 encapsulates all that Peugeot has to offer in a five-seater SUV. Its new design incorporates all of the style elements that elevate its status and character, while maintaining a distinct identity on the road.

The front end of the new Peugeot 3008 SUV flaunts a design that is as distinctive and original as ever, putting it one step ahead in terms of aesthetics. A new frameless grille, which continues with fins under the headlamps to unite all of the elements, depicts an increasingly modern style while maintaining a fluid design. Shiny black side scoops and a painted tread plate have been placed in the redesigned bumper to underline the sportiness.

The full-LED front headlamps have been modified to be more aggressive-looking with an expanded illuminated fang-like daytime running lights (DRLs) highlighted with a chrome tip. This light signature fits in perfectly with the current Peugeot style and is instantly recognizable. Full-LED lights also illuminate the 3D claws at the back, creating a strong light signature. Pedestrians and other motorists will also benefit from the enhanced visual clarity provided by scrolling turn indicators. The lights are hidden behind a clear, smoked glass, which extends the black boot lid on each side of the vehicle, optically widening the rear. Roof rails and 18-inch Los Angeles alloy wheels complete the look, adding to the new 3008’s overall sophisticated appeal.

The new 3008 enhances the driving experience from the inside out. Its style and appeal are enhanced with premium finishes, leather seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless mobile phone charging pad, USB charging ports, and a spacious cabin that comfortably accommodates five people.

The Peugeot i-Cockpit provides an immersive driving experience, with larger screens, configurable displays, and a compact multifunction steering wheel for better response and agility.

The fully customizable 12.3-inch digital head-up display has a digital panel with high-quality graphics for greater legibility and contrasts.

The new 10-inch high-definition central infotainment touchscreen has a series of exquisite toggle switches that provide direct and permanent access to comfort features including radio, air conditioning, 3D connected navigation with voice command, vehicle settings, phone, mobile apps, and hazard warning lights.

As part of its range of on-board technologies, the new 3008 comes the latest generation of driver aids. Advanced driver assistance systems, such as active blind spot detection, active lane keep assistance, and advanced driver attention warning, give the driver peace of mind, making driving safer and more enjoyable.

For increased security, safety, and convenience, the new 3008 is equipped with an anti-theft alarm, front parking sensors, and a power liftgate with foot control.

The 3008 is powered by a new 1.6-liter twin scroll turbo high pressure (THP) engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It generates a maximum power output of 165hp and maximum torque of 240Nm.

The new 3008 delivers superb handling that comes with top-of-the-line driving comfort and provides exceptional driving pleasure. It is perfectly maneuverable in cities with a turning radius of 10.7 meters between curbs.

The new Peugeot 3008 SUV is manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Gurun, Malaysia. All vehicles constructed in this plant are subjected to rigorous endurance and quality testing in order to provide best-in-class performance to customers in Southeast Asia. The new 3008, as well as the Malaysian-built Peugeot 5008, have successfully completed 300,000 kilometers of testing in various local climate and surroundings.

The new 3008 SUV is priced at P2.09 million and comes in four colors: Metallic Copper, Nera Black, Pearl White, and Amazonite Grey.
