Spec-checking the 11th-gen Honda Civic
There's a lot of hype surrounding the Honda Civic, and for good reasons. For many years, Honda's compact car has been known for blending reliability, practicality, and sportiness, especially with the hyped-up Type R versions.

Aside from a clean new look, the 11th-gen Honda Civic features a tuned 1.5-liter VTEC mill and Honda Sensing suite. Both will be standard on the PH-spec Civic.How much is the all-new Honda Civic?
The Honda Civic S Turbo CVT Honda Sensing is priced at P1.29 million, while the V Turbo CVT Honda Sensing variant is priced at P1.48 million. The RS Turbo CVT Honda Sensing variant is priced at P1.69 million.So in developing the 11th-generation Civic, Honda's goal was to make it an “Exhilarating Civic," by focusing on the car's three core values: Design, Dynamics, and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
For the design, the all-new Civic ditches its predecessor's curvy styling in favor of smoother and sleeker lines.
The front end blends the grille and headlamps in an almost one-piece fashion, while down below, the air dam's triangular shape is free from any irregular edges. The fog light inserts no longer wear the faux-air dam look, and in their place are now cleaner blacked-out panels.
Viewed from the side, the all-new Civic's profile is bare, with the attractions only limited to the kink in the greenhouse and a panel line on the lower part of the doors. The short rear end could fool you into thinking you're looking at a hatchback. The local market gets the all-new Civic sedan for now.
The all-new Civic's rear end continues the clean look theme, too, with rectangular tail lamps which are connected by the flat plate number recess. Meanwhile, the new car's neat bumper is good news for those who didn't like the old car's faux rear diffusers.
On the dynamic aspect, Honda says it has improved the all-new Civic's turbo engine. This VTEC 1.5-liter turbo mill powers all variants of the all-new Civic, generating 180hp and 240Nm of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is matched to the engine.
Moving on to the so-called HMI, the all-new Civic is equipped with a seven or a nine-inch touchscreen display audio. Both systems support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the bigger screen includes Wireless Apple CarPlay. Depending on trim level, the number of speakers are four, eight, and 12.
The all-new Civic also comes with a dual-zone automatic climate control with rear air vents. Digital instrument panels, which can be controlled from the steering wheel, are present in all models.
Another highlight is the Honda Sensing safety suite, available across the Civic range. The Honda Sensing includes the following safety aids: Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (ACC with LSF), Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS).
