These are the concept cars we want to see in PH this 2025

In most automotive-oriented events, concept cars are always a hot ticket spectacle that can draw crowds. But beyond being mere eye candy to wow onlookers, the aforementioned types of pre-production automobiles are often the most effective way for a brand to convey its vision of the future

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the concept cars Zigwheels Philippines wants to see displayed in local events in 2025?

The concept cars Zigwheels Philippines wants to see displayed in local events in 2025 include the Jaguar 00, Honda 0 Series, Toyota FT-Se, Nissan Epic, and Geely Galaxy Starship.
  • When did the Toyota FT-Se debut?

The Toyota FT-Se made its debut at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.
  • Many local branches of various car brands are well aware of the said sentiment, as such, they have strived to showcase fancy prototypes at Philippine events.

For example, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation previously showed off the DST Concept at the 9th Philippine International Motor Show. At the same event, Toyota Motor Philippines also displayed the Kayoibako and bZ4X concept cars

So, what concept cars can we expect brands to bring to Philippine car events in 2025? Here are several examples that we can think of.

    Toyota FT-Se

Toyota has plenty of new-ish concept cars in its roster, but many Filipinos might want to see the FT-Se. The brand, after all, has become well known for its Gazoo Racing (GR) performance rides, such as the GR Yaris and GR 86, so providing local fans the chance to see the FT-Se is a good way to share its vision of future possible products.

Plus, displaying the FT-Se could become a good ambassador for the brand's continued commitment to battery-electric vehicles even as it plans to build advanced environmentally friendly combustion engines

First unveiled at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, the Toyota FT-Se concept car was developed with heavy involvement from the marque’s GR high-performance and motorsports arm. So, as one would expect, the concept comes in the form of a rakish two-seater coupe with huge air ducts and sharp design details.

For now, Toyota has not released a detailed list of specifications for the concept, but the brand’s UK-based online magazine shared that it boasts light-weight materials and a “high-density battery.”

    Honda 0 Series

The Honda 0 Series, specifically the 0 Saloon and the 0 sports utility vehicle (SUV), likewise counts as concept cars we’d want to see in the Philippines in the future.

Sure, the Minato-based brand did say that the two will be released as retail-ready models this year. However, in the case of the Philippine setting, the concepts could be utilized as “previews” if the brand ever decides to bring in the two concept car’s production versions locally.

Based on Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy, the latest iterations of the 0 Series and their Asimo operating systems (OS) were previously showcased at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show

Both the saloon and SUV concepts are built on a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platform equipped with feature sharp and hyper-modern designs and, of course, the Asimo OS.

As mentioned above, the highlight of the two vehicles is the Asimo OS, which promises to revolutionize mobility. It is conceived as an encompassing system that takes charge of the following in-vehicle components:

    • Autonomous driving system
    • Advanced driver-assist systems (Honda Sensing)
    • Infotainment systems
    • Customizable user profiles
    • Drive motors (via drive-by-wire integration)
    • Active suspension (via drive-by-wire integration)
    • Brakes (via drive-by-wire integration)

    Nissan Epic

Another concept vehicle we want to see displayed in the Philippines is the Nissan Epic. Sure, the said concept was displayed with other cool Nissan rides in Auto China 2024, such as the bonkers-looking Hyper Force Concept, but the Epic would be of interest to SUV-loving Filipino Nissan fans.

In a nutshell, the Epic is a high-riding SUV that is touted to combine “go-anywhere capabilities” with autonomous driving. Besides the said details, not much was shared about the Epic’s specifications, but its exterior boasts a bumper-integrated set of LED light strips, a generous amount of ground clearance, and a set of notably large wheels.

    Jaguar 00

It isn’t likely to happen in 2025, but many Philippine-based car nuts would want to see the new Jaguar 00 concept car in the metal.

As a reminder, the 00 concept debuted in 2024 as a part of Jaguar’s ongoing rebranding efforts. Appearance-wise, it looks boxy but equally sporty, thanks to its fastback body style, its immensely long bonnet, and its straight-cut character lines.

Inside the latest Jaguar concept are numerous details that allude to its new direction of becoming more of a “boutique” car brand. The cockpit, in particular, utilizes a lot of hand-finished brass trim, travertine stone, woven textiles, and wool.

Like many other concepts listed above, the Jaguar 00’s specs are yet to be released, but the Coventry-headquartered marque said it will be an all-electric nameplate with around 770 kilometers of range.

To note, the production version of the Jaguar 00 will be released in the latter part of 2025

    Geely Galaxy Starship

Presented at the 2024 Auto China, the Geely Galaxy Starship is a concept SUV that many Pinoys would also want to see in the metal.

As we’ve established, local buyers really love SUVs, and this model could offer a sneak peek at what Geely is planning for the aforementioned car segment. Plus, the concept has a bunch of artificial intelligence (AI) and powertrain technologies that will dictate the brand’s overall car design direction for the coming years.

Here’s a table showing some of the capabilities of the Geely Galaxy Starship concept:

    Final thoughts
