Top 5 New Members Of The 700hp Club

As the automobile industry is constantly growing, the car makers are spending billions of dollars to develop more advanced and powerful engines. We are living in an era where there are some incredibly powerful cars available in the market.

Among all the factors, the horsepower of the car is taken into special consideration while analyzing its strength and performance. Usually, greater horsepower denotes more speed, and when it comes to a sports car, horsepower literally plays a vital role. The following models of the exclusive 700 hp club hold the ultimate obsession for the ones who love speed.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

The radically aerodynamic Aston Martin Valkyrie is equipped with a 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine tailored by Cosworth, which is tuned to generate a power output of more than 1,000 horsepower. Thanks to the advanced powertrain that has been borrowed from Formula One without being restricted to the race track. Unlike the conventional hybrid system, the V12 unit enhances the torque during taking off and utilizes the electric motor for boosting the power. Valkyrie’s all-carbon structure has made the car exceptionally light in weight, making it even more furious performer. With only 150 units of Valkyrie road car production planned, Aston Martin has stepped into the hypercar arena.

Bentley Continental Supersports

Sitting at the top of Bentley Continental lineup, the Continental Supersports brags with a 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, which has the potential to deliver an immense power output of 700 hp and torque of 1017 Nm. The motor is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The Bentley Continental Supersports comes with the all-wheel-drive system and can reach up to 60 mph within just 3.4 seconds. With the top speed of 209 mph, it has been claimed to be the fastest four-seater sedan car that has taken exhilaration to the utmost level. Besides the transmission, the unique effect which sets the car apart from the Continental predecessors is the torque-vectoring unit that has been adapted from the Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

With a striking 840 horsepower under the hood, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI Demon V8 engine that is capable of developing a maximum torque of 1044 Nm. The car is armed with a Torque Reserve Launch System that winds up the supercharger before the launch without giving much stress to the brakes. Covering a distance of 60 mph in an insane 2.3 seconds, it is claimed to be the fastest production car that has ever been made by Dodge.

Ferrari 812 Superfast

Being the fastest ever Ferrari, the car comes with a 6.5-litre V12 engine that is designed to churn out 800 horsepower at 8,500 revolutions per minute along with a peak torque of 718 Nm at 7,000 revolutions per minute. The transmission option includes a 7-speed automatic gearbox. In just 2.9 seconds, the car can cover a distance up to 62 mph. It is the first ever Ferrari to feature an electric power steering. Having a top speed of 211 mph, the Ferrari 812 Superfast aims to offer a revolutionary driving experience.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

The all-new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk boasts of a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine that is good enough to generate 707 horsepower along with 875 Nm of highest torque. As for the transmission option, the engine is teamed with an advanced TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic gearbox that transmits the power to all four wheels. With a maximum speed of 180 mph, the car can accelerate up to 60 mph in a mere 3.3 seconds. The 707-hp SUV is claimed to be the most powerful and fastest SUV worldwide.

Back in 2014, when Dodge launched the Challenger SRT Hellcat, it was claimed as the “most powerful muscle car ever”. Things, however, have changed now. The Hellcat was beaten by its own successor, the Challenger SRT Demon. Plus we now have a range of options with a power of more than 700 hp under the hood, many of which are available with a far more affordable price tag.

And, it’s not the end of the road. There are more demons to come.
