Toyota Wigo: Variants explained

Toyota’s entry-level offering, the Wigo has hit the bullseye with the car-loving public in the Philippines. The Toyota Wigo is not only affordable, it is also heads and shoulders above the competition. So, today we decided to help the buyers by differentiating between the Toyota Wigo trims that are on offer now in the Philippines. That being said, it is far easier to understand the Wigo trims vis-a-vis.

The Toyota Wigo is offered with a single engine option - the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol that is good for 66 PS of power and 89 Nm of peak torque. To give buyers more variety, a 4-speed auto and 5-speed manual transmission options are offered. It’s a great handler and the ride quality is also decent. It is the company’s most affordable car.  So, without further ado, here are the trim options of the Wigo explained in detail.

1) Toyota Wigo E MT

This is the base trim and as the name suggests, it is manual. It brings along with it, 14-inch alloys, manual AC, single-din FM and MP3 player that is AUX and USB compatible, power steering as well as power windows. There are speed sensitive door locks, ABS, and dual airbags on offer too. A standard warranty of 3 years/1,000,00 km is available with the car. The price is Php 537,000.

2) Toyota Wigo G MT

This sits above the E trim and is again a manual. The features offered over the E include a security alarm, navigation-ready audio display and steering wheel audio control. The price is Php 576,000

3) Toyota Wigo G AT

The Toyota Wigo AT makes same power at 69 PS and torque numbers at 89 Nm. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 6.3 litre/100 km. This effectively translates to a range of 524 km. The feature list is the same as the G MT. The asking price is slightly higher at Php 611,000.

4) Toyota Wigo TRD AT

Surprisingly, the performance trim gets a lower rating as compared to the other here - 66 PS of power and 85 Nm of torque. The fuel efficiency is similar to that of the G AT. The car is shorter than the other trims but is wider. This is because of the added body kit. The feature list is the same as the G AT. Toyota has priced the TRD trim at Php 676,000.
