2015 Frankfurt Motor Show: Suzuki Reveals its all-new Baleno
The new car is a successor to the swift and features MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam set-up at the rear. These setups are made in order to enhance the handling of the car. Under the hood lies Suzuki’s 1.2-litre Dualjet motor churning out 89 bhp and 89 lb-ft. Company has introduced new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged unit with a dubbed Boosterjet. It produces 110 bhp of maximum power output and a peak torque of 125 lb-ft between 2000 and 3500 rpm.
Suzuki claims that the new Baleno line-up gets a mild hybrid edition called SHVS which helps the car to move away from a standstill. It also gives a smoother restart in start-stop situations. The gear box holds a five-speed manual transmission system. The Boosterjet is made available with the six-speed automatic. The interiors are neat and well maintained with an attractive dashboard. New Baleno offers an optional 7-inch LCD display and the infotainment system offers easy iPhone connectivity.
The exact prices are yet to be confirmed but it is expected to be around £12,000. The sales of the Baleno is expected to start in spring 2016.
