2016 Alpina B5 launched with twin turbochargers, beats BMW M5 in Power & Luxury
MANILA: Alpina is a renowned German auto maker and assembler that works with BMW and manufactures high performance and luxurious vehicles. Recently, Alpina launched the 2016 Alpina B5 which is powerful than the BMW M5. Alpina claims that the B5 is a performance driven luxurious midsize sedan which takes just 4.2 seconds to go 0-100 kph.

The 2016 Alpina B5 gets 4.4-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine that produces 600 hp of power and a peak torque of 800 Nm. Alpina B5 is assembled with premium motor along with three in-built intercoolers, a high-capacity fuel system, larger oil coolers, and lightweight pistons. The powerful engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It has also received a world-class features such as Adaptive Driving Mode, adjustable suspension, active roll stabilization, and Drexler mechanical limited-slip differential in order to assure smooth ride.
No doubt the BMW M5 has been one of the most powerful high performance vehicles in the segment but in terms of power output, the B5 beats the M5 as it delivers about 560 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 677 Nm. The leather upholstery used inside the B5 overshadows the M5 and other luxury models.

Looking into the configurations, Alpina B5 turns out to be an expensive deal. The Alpina B5 price is around PhP 5.4 million, and the Touring trim costs about PhP 5.6 million.
