2016 Toyota Prius C flaunts electric lime and cheery pink as part of its Persona Series
MANILA: Finally, updated and out in the open. Toyota Prius C was done with its dull and boring self and so decided to slash few electric, bright colour to break the monotony. Note that it's not just about the colour palette guys, the car comes stuffed with many safety and mechanical updates making it a better buy than ever. This hybrid from Toyota is yet to see some great figures on the sales chart, and the company hopes to achieve the same with this new car.
Talking first about its outer body that will be offered in a single black tone with electric lime and cheery pink accents all over, from its lower grille to its headlight outline, ORVM's to lower window line, all is done artistically. Apart from this, now there has been a shift from the dual headlight design to HID projectors that go very well with the reshaped bumper. On to the side, you'll see sharp contour lines, 15-inch black alloy wheels and a Persona Series badging on the front fenders.
Inside, cabin changes are as prominent as the outer front and is offered in a black-silver colour tone. Toyota has armed the 2016 Prius C with advanced features like a 6.1-inch Entune touchscreen information system, multi-functional steering wheel, six-way adjustable driver's seat, handy yet sporty looking gear knob and lastly two-tone fabric seats.
Toyota struck to the old engine configuration, meaning that the new Prius will still be powered by a 1.5-litre inline four-cylinder mill that will be paired with an electric motor and a nickel-metal hybrid battery. The output comes out to be a flashy 99 PS when coupled to a CVT gearbox. As for fuel consumption, it has a diet as low as 53 MPG (city).
Moving on and talking about the safety kit, Prius C will be offered with an optional Safety Sense C system that includes features like automatic high beam, lane departure assist, pre-collision system, VSC, TRAC, ABS, EBD and smart stop technologies.
This new Toyota will be a limited edition, restricted to just 1500 units, sales of which will commence from December in the U.S.
