2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus launched in the Philippines

MANILA: It looks like, today is a day dedicated to mighty beasts, Why? In the morning we informed you about the Italian automaker working on the facelift of its renowned Aventador with spied images caught at Nurburgring. Now, we have another big news from the house of German automaker, Audi, who has launched its second generation 2017 R8 V10 plus in the country. According to the automaker, the R8 V10 plus has been designed for delivering maximum driving dynamics and is also one of the last supercars which will be featuring naturally-aspirated engine.

As V10 Plus is a more powerful version of R8, the 5.2-litre, 40-valve engine delivers a maximum power output of 610 PS and peak torque of 560 Nm. Clocking 100 kmph mark from naught will take 3.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 330 kmph. Power is transmitted to all the four wheels through the Quattro all-wheel drive system and the engine is mated to a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission. The braking of R8 V10 Plus is ensured with 380mm carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston callipers up front and four-piston ones at the rear.

The 20-inch wheels with 245/30 R20 tyres further add to the performance of the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus and the manufacturer highlighted the three additional modes: dry, wet and snow at the launch event. Now, looking at the styling of the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus, its large air intakes with vertical fins, and single frame grille fin are finished in gloss black. The use of carbon fibre on side blades are also different which is gloss silver on the regular model. The large air vents at the rear with big diffuser looks prominent and the ventilated screen cover of the engine further spice up the overall design in an effective manner.

In the cabin, some of the notable features include Audi virtual cockpit, a digital instrument cluster, which is configurable by the user and show all displays in 3D graphics. According to the driver’s requirement, it can display different information about the car. In addition, the MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch comes standard across R8 V10 Plus. Before the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus, Audi was into the limelight when RS3 Sportback e-tron was revealed globally.
