2018 Ford Fiesta revealed in Germany
MANILA: It looks like Ford is on a spree to upgrade its lineup with a refreshed styling, first, it was the updated Ford Ecosport which was revealed a few days back and now the American automaker has taken the covers off the 2018 Ford Fiesta. The front has retained the wide, hexagonal grille which has now become the signature for most of the hatches and sedans of Ford while the headlights are now more round than the previous model.
Although the front has not changed much but, the side profile is much more refined. The roofline slopes downwards and integrates into the rear spoiler. At the rear, the big, tear drop shaped round taillights are now replaced with two-piece clusters that start from the tailgate onto the quarter panel. For the European market, the all-new Ford Fiesta will be available in Titanium, Vignale, ST-Line and Active variants.
In the cabin, the 2018 Fiesta now features soft padded dash and depending on the variant, the stitching around the centre stack varies. Even the infotainment system is updated and is a Sync 3 system, which is powered by QNX instead of Microsoft. Considering the power unit of the updated Fiesta, the Euro-spec model will be offered with the three-cylinder. 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. However, 1.6-litre four cylinder and 1.6-litre four cylinder turbo boost engines will be also available at the later stage.
The engine options for the global market are not revealed yet but, we expect that the four-cylinder engine options will be there. The 2018 Fiesta will be available in the European market by mid-2017 and for the Philippines, we might expect the updated version by late 2017.
