2018 Ford Fiesta Spotted Camouflaged – What To Expect From The New Hot Hatch?
MANILA: It's time for a fiesta in the Ford camp! The latest news, which is taking over the automobile industry is the prototype of 2018 Ford Fiesta. Yes, we know that it's still 2016 but the American automaker doesn't want to lag behind and so it has already geared up to make a prominent place in the future market. The prototype of 2018 Fiesta was spotted during a test drive on the wide open public roads. Though this drive is yet to undergo production line and only the prototype is facing all the necessary tests but if auto experts are to be believed, the production version and prototype would not have any big styling differences and the prospective customers can consider this, as the final design of the 7th generation Ford Fiesta.
Ford has a fair share of the Philippines automotive market and the recent revelation from CAMPI states that it has a firm grip on the 3rd spot with 10.38 percent, the contribution goes to the entire fleet. Coming back to the new Fiesta, it is expected to be launched by mid-2017 and will hit the showrooms by the beginning of the year 2018. Though the spotted new Fiesta was heavily camouflaged and there was hardly any scope to get a glance of the styling cues at the exterior and interior, the bits and pieces we could gather about this spied drive depict big cosmetic changes in and out and why not, after all it's the Next-Gen Ford Fiesta. Let's have a look at what can the prospective customers and auto enthusiasts expect from this new hot hatch -
Revised Face
As earlier stated, the prototype of the 2018 Ford Fiesta was nicely disguised but that couldn't save us from noticing its revised face. The new radiator grille looks like shedding off the slats and having a honeycomb mesh instead adds more to the sportiness of this car. The upper grille looks like reduced in size and the lower grille has been increased to allow better airflow to increase the efficiency of the engine. Apart from this, the restyled headlamps also seem to work in favor of the updated design.
Rear Is Redone
While there are minor changes at the front, the rear has been completely renovated to add more appeal. The sharp vertical tail lights offered in the current Fiesta are now replaced with horizontally placed taillamps, making a place towards the boot lid in the upcoming model. The rear bumper has also received a revision and looks uplifted, which overall compliment the stretched structure of this Next-Gen Ford Fiesta. The upcoming version of Fiesta will be arriving with a tough competition for Volkswagen Polo and to make it even tougher for the prospective customers, Fiesta has dropped its curves showing more sharp features.
Cabin Cues
Though the dark tinted glasses on the windows didn't let us have a glance in the cabin of the new Ford Fiesta but going by the auto experts' opinions, the manufacturer will retain the interior content and finishes. Some up gradation in the infotainment facility and softer material in the cabin of the new Fiesta is expected. The American brand is also plotting a larger touch display and SYNC3 interface in this upcoming model which is surely something to look up to.
Enhanced Safety
Well, Ford is already conscious about the safety of the occupants in its cars and Ford Fiesta is a fine example of this philosophy. Coming to the Next-Gen Ford Fiesta, it is expected to arrive with enhanced aspects to ensure the best of safety onboard. Keeping the safety of its current-gen model intact, the new version would additionally house blind spot monitoring, road sign recognition and lane departure warnings features.
Under The Hood
We understand that is one of the most important aspects and if you are an auto enthusiast, you must be searching for this segment. So, here we go. The manufacturer has not revealed anything on this front and whatever whirling in the automotive market is just speculation. Recently, Ford received the highly renowned and appreciated Engine of the Year 2016 award for its 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine in the 1-litre engine category for the 5th time in a row. This engine is already available in the current Fiesta model along with a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine across the trims. Auto experts believe that the company would possess the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine for sure, which has brought glory to the manufacturer. With this, the company may also introduce a bigger version of the EcoBoost engine while keeping the same 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine in the tow.
Well, the manufacturer has not revealed anything officially, it's more like speculations based on the experience of the auto experts. Till now, one thing, which is sure shortly confirmed is that the company would manufacture the 2018 Ford Fiesta in its facility located at Rayong, Thailand, unlike the current model which is produced in India and Mexico. For rest of the things, we still have to wait for some more time till the American giant rolls out exact data and specs of this newbie. Meanwhile, checkout what all the current gen Ford Fiesta has it all to offer in the Philippines and for the new one, Stay tuned with us!
