2018 Honda Odyssey now available in the Philippines
MANILA: One of the most praised MPVs in the local market, Honda Odyssey has received its updated version. Yes, after its official debut in Japan last year, the 2018 Honda Odyssey has finally made its way to the local market with updated styling and tech features. The recent update of the MPV is focused on providing more luxurious and comfortable ride to the occupants.
Considering the changes in EX-V Navi variant, the front has received a new grille finished in dark chrome accompanied by sharper and sleeker headlamps with LED daytime running lights. Even the bumper is molded to look sportier and features sleek LED fog lights. The door handles are finished in chrome while the character lines on the sides continue to give a sophisticated look to this Honda’s MPV. At the back, the wraparound LED taillights complete the stylish look of 2018 Odyssey in an effective manner.
The entry-level EX variant gets new front and rear bumper design with a platinum grille. Also, the headlights are halogen units lacking daytime running lights. The redesigned 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels complete the exterior changes list in both the variants. In the cabin, the top variant comes with a seven-seat layout with second row being equipped with captain chairs with ottomans. The other changes of EX-V Navi include new black wood and silver trim panels, large armrest with center console and a couple of new storage compartments.
There is a new 9-inch rear entertainment screen that is capable of running DVDs, and HDMI playback. In the entry-level variant, the captain seats are replaced with 60:40 split folding seats while the leather upholstery is replaced with soft-touch fabric. In both the variants, the third row comes with Magic Seats that improves the luggage gulping capacity of the new Odyssey.
Under the hood, there is a 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine that is carried forward from the outgoing model. Mated to company’s Earth Dreams continuously variable transmission (CVT), the engine unit is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 175 PS at 6200 rpm and peak torque of 225 Nm at 4000 rpm. For better fuel efficiency, it comes with Idle-Stop system, Eco-coaching ambient light, and Econ (Economy) mode.
The MPV is available in four color options which include Crystal Black Pearl exclusive to top model only, Super Platinum Metallic, Premium White Pearl and Premium Twinkle Black Pearl. Both the premium color options are available at Php 20,000 extra on the base price. The base variant, EX is priced at Php 2,039,000 while the EX-V Navi comes at a sticker price of Php 2,449,000.
