2019 Nissan Livina breaks cover in Indonesia
MANILA: After a series of spy shots and official teaser, Nissan has finally pulled the cover off its latest MPV, the 2019 Livina. The updated MPV, well it's not updated actually, as it is a rebadged Mitsubishi Xpander with some Nissan elements to provide it with a distinct appeal. Replacing the years old Nissan Grand Livina, the new MPV will lock horns with the likes of Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, and Honda Mobilio in the Indonesian market.
The front fascia on the 2019 Nissan Livina continues to feature the three-tier lighting setup, albeit with a different LED DRL arrangement. Gone is the Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield expression and the grille has done away with the excessive chrome to make way for the Nissan’s “V-Motion” nose.
There is also a silver lip, and angular fog lamps replace the round units that we have seen on the Xpander. We then see the front lip converging into the silver side skirts. Another difference outside is the wheel arches. While the arches were squared-off units in the Xpander, Nissan’s Livina comes with rounded-off pieces.
Moving to the back of the MPV, we taillamps which continue to feature a similar design as before, however, the graphics inside are of different configuration and boast boomerangs which aim outwards.
The rear also houses a two-piece silver diffuser. The overall appearance of the rear end of the 2019 Livina is kinda reminiscent to the Nissan X-Trail. The MPV then rides on 16-inch two-tone alloys.
While there are noticeable differences on the outside of the two MPVs, Nissan Livina and Mitsubishi Xpander, the heart of the two is identical. Just like the Mitsubishi Xpander, the new Livina is powered by a 1.5-litre engine which is capable enough to produce 104 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 141 Nm.
This motor is coupled with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission unit. The newest MPV in Nissan’s stable comes equipped with 12V power outlets for all the rows, seven-inch touchscreen head unit featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED DRLs, color multi-info display with an eco indicator, keyless entry with push start, reverse camera, and tilt & telescopic steering.
Safety features on all the models include dual airbags and ABS with EBD, while Brake Assist, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) come only with the VE and VL variants.
The MPV will be offered in five variants, namely E MT, EL MT, EL AT, VE AT, and VL AT. There are six color options including the Sunset Orange finish. The 2019 Nissan Livina price ranges from Rp 198.8 Juta (roughly Php 735,360) to Rp 261.9 Juta (roughly Php 969,160).
