All-New Toyota Vios launched in the Philippines

MANILA: We know you were eagerly awaiting the launch of the stylish all-new Vios. Well now, the wait is finally over. Toyota Motor Philippines has finally launched the new Vios. The new Toyota Vios has replaced the previous-generation, 2013 make, which has currently been available in the Philippine market. Just like the earlier generation Vios, these too will be assembled locally, at the Toyota plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The Toyota Vios is also available in Thailand but there it is sold under the name Yaris Ativ. And in other parts of the world, it is known by the same name. Toyota Motor Philippines did not go for the name change and went for the same old name, Vios, as they did not want to follow Toyota Motor Thailand's decision of renaming the car.

Recently, we were able to get some crucial details of the all-new Vios. As per those details, the all-new Vios will be available with 6 different variants. They are the 1.3 base models -1.3 J, 1.3 E, 1.3 E Prime, 1.5 G, and 1.5 G Prime. The newest addition to the Vios model range is the 1.3 E Prime and 1.5 G Prime variants. There are distinct differences in each of these trim levels.

The 2019 Vios will be offered with a 1.3-litre or 1.5-litre engines. While the powerful 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, 2NR-FE makes a max power of 106 PS and 140 Nm of peak torque. The leaner 1.3-litre, four-cylinder, 1NR-FE engine continues to produce max power of 98 PS and 123 Nm peak torque. Depending on the trim, both the engine types can be mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox or a 5-speed manual one.

The safety features on the 2019 Toyota Vios are something we have to talk about. All the variants of the new Vios now come equipped with Stability Control, EBD, seven airbags, and brake assist as standard fitment. Yes, the basic 1.3L variants, that will mostly be used as a cab.

 

The price range of the all new Vios starts at Php 659,000 for the 1.3 Base M/T and goes all up till Php 1,095,000 for the premium 1.5 G CVT Prime variant. The full price list of all the variants, of the all new 2019 Toyota Vios, is as follows:
