2020 Honda Accord gets an improved design, advanced tech, and higher price
MANILA: The mid-size sedan segment in the Philippines sees another great Japanese offering entring the division. There is certainly no denying to the fact that the customer interest is drifting towards SUVs and crossovers, but the sedan market isn't dead just yet. Something that further proves the popularity of sedans in the Philippines is the Toyota Vios, which is the best-selling passenger car of the country. With that said, here's welcoming the 2020 Honda Accord, the tenth-generation Japanese sedan in the Philippines. So, what's all-new about the newest avatar of the Honda Accord? Let's check out.
The front fascia of the 2020 Honda Accord incorporates LED headlamps that are conjoined by a thick chrome trim. Then there is a trapezoidal front grille that comes dipped in black color. A pair of horizontally stacked LED fog lamps complete the front end of the sedan. Moving on to the side profile of the tenth-generation Accord, we see the Japanese sedan riding on chunky & stylish five-spoke alloy wheels. A bold shoulder line that runs across the length of the car, dual-tone ORVMs, and a shark fin antenna provide the new Accord with a sporty touch. At last, the rear end of the sedan gets a pair of C-shaped taillamps, dual exhaust outlets, and a trunk lip spoiler.
The interior of the 2020 Honda Accord is full of sportiness, comfort, and convenience features. For starters, the sedan gets an all-black sporty theme, soft trim pieces, well-cushioned seats, and active noise cancellation. Then there is a three-spoke steering wheel complete with all of the media and cruise controls along with paddle shifters. The instrument cluster is also full-digital. Moreover, the infotainment system vaunts a floating touchscreen display alongside a stereo that comprises of eight speakers.
On the mechanical front, powering the 2020 Honda Accord is the 1.5-litre turbocharged motor that we have already seen on the Civic RS Turbo. However, the engine here comes in a different state of tune and produces 190 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 260 Nm. The ample is then transferred to the wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
One of the most important aspects of the all-new Accord is the automaker's Honda Sensing safety suite. Apart from standard safety features likes six SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, and others the Honda Sensing package equips the sedan with the likes of road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, LaneWatch camera, front and rear parking sensors, driver attention monitor, multi-view reverse camera, stability control, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow.
