2020 Mazda Cx-30 makes it way to Thailand!

MANILA: Japanese multinational automaker Mazda’s newest offering CX-30 is already the talk of the town due to is “plush meets practicality” concept. Amidst that, Mazda Sales Thailand has launched the CX-30 in the market which is expected to give a strong competition to already established rival models like the Honda HR-V. The CX-30 is categorically the B-segment SUV. This new model comes with a regular petrol engine which may prove to be a downside since electrification has already taken over the market in Thailand.

The petrol motor placed in the CX-30 is a 165hp 2.0-litre unit combined with six-speed automatic. There is no second choice given for the diesel engine, however, CX-30 has the option of a 1.8 litre SkyActiv-D oil burner which has the capacity to ignite 114 hp/270 Nm.

Talking about the size considerations of CX-30, lengthwise it sits in between the existing CX-3 and CX-5. The overall length and wheelbase measure 4,395mm and 2,655mm. Supposedly, to be at par with the CX-3 and CX-5, CX-30 uses the same engine and transmission.

The Mazda CX-30 specs sheet tells it rides on 16-inch alloy wheels and enhancing its exterior aesthetics are the automatic high-beam LED headlamps. Other ubiquitous features include keyless entry, push start, powered tailgate, sunroof and parking sensors at both ends.

Getting to the inside of the car we see the Mazda Connect infotainment system linked to an 8.8-inch display and eight speakers that are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also dual-zone climate control with rear vents, a 10-way powered driver’s seat with memory and paddle shifters. Seats are made of leather upholstery and silver dashboard trim enhances the interior styling of the car.

Coming to the safety features of CX-30 there are seven airbags, DSC, Hill Launch Assist, Isofix child seats and electronic parking brake. The adaptive Front-Lighting System is a prominent and noticeable element along with high beam control, blind spot monitoring and lane departure alerts. In addition to this, you also get Driver Attention Alert, Smart City Brake Support and Mazda Radar Cruise Control, which truly abides by all safety norms in all senses.
For now, three CX-30 trim levels are made available to the people of Thailand starting with the C at 989,000 baht (RM131,033), the S at 1.099 million baht (RM145,796) and top SP at 1.199 million baht (RM159,062).
