2020 Nissan Livina to debut on February 19
MANILA: It hasn’t been long since we first covered a news story on the spy shots of the 2020 Nissan Livina. And now the manufacturer has announced the official unveiling date of the MPV. Slated to come out in the flesh on February 19, the next-generation Livina will be based on the Mitsubishi Xpander courtesy the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance.
Nissan, the Japanese auto giant, has released a teaser image prior to the unveiling of the MPV. However, the teaser image doesn’t show us anything except the high-mounted LED DRLs and Nissan’s trademark grille. While the grille in the spy shots was covered, the image reveals how the centre of the front fascia will appear in the real world.
While the 2020 Livina will be a rebadged Mitsubishi Xpander, Nissan’s MPV will have its unique elements as well. For starters, the grille by Mitsubishi will be replaced by Nissan’s V-Motion setup. Talking of the rear, the Livina will come with smoked LED taillamps. Barring these changes including a revisited front apron, the sides and most of the rear of the MPV will be more than similar to the Xpander.
While the MPV may feature a Nissan motor, speculations suggest that the Nissan Livina could be getting its power from a 1.5-litre engine by Mitsubishi. Anyways, all the speculations should be put to rest by tomorrow when the new Livina steps on the podium. Would you like to have the 2020 Nissan Livina in the Philippines competing against its cousin Mitsubishi Xpander? The possibilities of that happening are slim though as Nissan has not announced anything yet either.
