Because SsangYong is not a major player and is relatively an unknown car brand to most Filipinos, it wants to make sure that it gets the wow factor in terms of what it can offer. And what makes Tivoli crossover so special, you may ask? If you are thinking of buying a crossover, Tivoli is worth looking at because it’s the only subcompact SUV that runs on diesel! Yes, you read it correctly. Diesel.
“With this new product, the market can now enjoy diesel power in the subcompact SUV segment. It’s also got cleaner emissions and excellent fuel economy,” according to SsangYong Berjaya Motor Philippines President Japheth Castillo.
The new 2020 Tivoli got un update under the hood with an e-XDi160 diesel engine capable of producing 134 hp of maximum power and 324 Nm of peak torque. The engine is partnered with a six-speed automatic gearbox, which comes standard to both the Tivoli 1.6L Diesel Sport AT and 1.6L Diesel Premium AT variants.
On the exterior, the new Tivoli got some new design upgrades. This includes a new front fascia and redesigned grille, LED headlights with daytime running lights, and 3-tier fog lamps, and gigantic air intake at the bottom center of the front bumper. At the back, there are also minor design changes to the taillights as compared to the previous model with the bumper and liftgate also being updated. Inside, the Tivoli boast of a 9.0-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
The all-new Tivoli is now open for reservation. The SsangYong Tivoli 1.6L Diesel Sport AT is priced at Php 1,180,000 while the SsangYong Tivoli 1.6L Diesel Premium AT is at P1,290,000.
