2023 Nissan Leaf powers the lights of Ormoc City Christmas tree
MANILA: Nissan Philippines traveled to the City of Ormoc to take part in the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Nissan Philippines brought happiness and hope to the Ormocanons while promoting sustainable transportation with the Nissan Leaf, which is entirely electric. The 50-foot municipal Christmas tree was lit by the 2023 Nissan Leaf thanks to the EV's power-generating V2X technology.

With the trip to Ormoc City, the carmaker is taking one of the many steps to reinforce the role of sustainable mobility in creating resilient societies through its Blue Switch initiative launched in January of this year.
The 2023 Nissan aims to provide an optimistic outlook for the future and people of Ormoc, an area that is often beset by typhoons, including Typhoon Odette that devastated the city last December 2021.
Last October, Nissan Philippines co-presented the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, and the carmaker also showcased its updated Leaf at the event.
Exclusively distributed by Gateway Motors group in the Philippines and available in select dealerships nationwide, the Leaf’s price remains unchanged at P2.790 million.
The updated Nissan Leaf brings a refreshed, modern exterior and interior design with the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that provide advanced safety and convenience in every drive.

In several Nissan dealerships across the country, quick charging stations allow owners to fully charge their Nissan Leaf in as little as 40 to 60 minutes.
Nissan Philippines also reinforced its Blue Switch initiative through a commitment ceremony at the 10th PEVS held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
In attendance during the Tree Lighting Ceremony was Nissan Philippines' President Juan Manuel Hoyos, joined by Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez, Congressman Richard Gomez from the 4th District of Leyte, Ormoc City SP Chairman Peter "Perok" Rodriguez, and Vice Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin, Sr. Also present are Michael Goho, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Gateway Motors, the exclusive distributor of Nissan LEAF in the Philippines, Willard Chan, President of Topcars Autoworld Corporation, the owner and operator of the Nissan dealership in Ormoc City, Ryan Chan, Managing Director of Topcars Autoworld Corporation, and Charlene Chan, Chief Finance Officer of Topcars Autoworld Corporation.
