2023 Nissan X-Trail to come with e-Power, e-4orce drivetrains

MANILA: Nissan Europe will launch the all-new X-Trail in the region soon, with the carmaker saying that the compact SUV will be powered by electrified technologies.

In a press release, Nissan Europe stated: “Building on 20 years of heritage, the All-New X-Trail is a bold evolution of the intrepid crossover. Playing host to Nissan's exciting new e-4orce and e-Power technologies, this groundbreaking new model is primed for electrified family adventures.”

The X-Trail, which made its debut in 2000, went on to become a bestselling SUV and is regarded as an iconic Nissan. Nissan has continued to improve the X-Trail over time.

The most recent iteration — which was unveiled in Japan — boasts cutting-edge technology, potent performance, and a degree of equipment that can only be found in a true SUV.

“As announced in Nissan Ambition 2030, Nissan aims to drive towards a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world through our products and services,” Ashwani Gupta, Nissan Chief Operating Officer, underscored in a press release.

“With this in mind, we are electrifying major models, with the X-Trail for the Japan market becoming a dedicated e-Power model with e-4orce an option. The new X-Trail will play an important role in leading our electrification.”

The platform of the 2023 Nissan X-Trail has been fully reworked to increase stiffness while reducing body weight. By isolating the cabin from engine and road noise, a high level of cabin quietness has been attained.

The second-generation e-Power system, which offers enhanced power, smoothness, and quietness, is included with the 2023 Nissan X-Trail. The gasoline engine of the system, which is the first mass-produced variable compression ratio engine in history, generates energy.

The X-Trail's turbo engine has been specially tuned for the e-Power system, which dramatically increases output even at low revs. While retaining a high level of fuel efficiency, the combination of e-Power with the turbo engine offers a dynamic driving experience and unmatched silence.

By allowing deceleration when the accelerator pedal is released, e-Pedal Step lessens the need to use the brakes. The feature offers greater peace of mind and more comfortable driving on city streets, slick surfaces, and incline roads.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Nissan X-Trail incorporates e-4orce that combines Nissan's electric power, four-wheel drive management, and chassis-control technologies for a significant improvement in acceleration, cornering, and braking capabilities.

On a range of road surfaces, e-4orce improves driving performance and confidence while giving all passengers an extraordinarily comfortable in-car experience.

To increase tire frictional force, e-4orce precisely regulates the driving force and braking of the front and rear twin electric motors by analyzing the road surface and the condition of the vehicle in real time. This guarantees easy cornering and increases driving assurance.

E-4orce reduces tire slippage and permits smooth starting and driving even in slick circumstances by always ensuring maximum traction.

The front and rear motors control regenerative balance during acceleration to steady the movement of the vehicle and provide a comfortable ride for the driver and passengers.

The high-output motors produce forceful yet smooth acceleration that makes merging onto expressways simple. They react promptly to the application of pressure to the accelerator pedal.

A multitude of safety technologies are included in the 2023 Nissan X-Trail to support driving in various scenarios.

Utilizing cameras, radar, and sonar, Nissan Safety Assist 360 continuously scans the area around the car and can take action if necessary. In an emergency, help may be available from an SOS call service.

When there are approaching or preceding cars, an adaptive LED headlight system allows for the employment of the high beam in addition to the low beam to illuminate the immediate area.

ProPilot, Nissan's autonomous driving system created for usage on highways with single-lane traffic, now includes Navi-link. The ProPilot with Navi-link system in the 2023 X-Trail lessens the frequency of driver operations by supporting vehicle speed changes in accordance with posted speed limits and deceleration support for curves.

In a variety of circumstances, ProPilot Park manages the steering, accelerator, brakes, gear shift, and parking brake to ensure precise, safe parking.

The appearance of the 2023 Nissan X-Trail elevates the standard for SUVs by fusing the first generation's "tough gear" history with even higher standards of excellence. The position and turn lamps are located at the top of the headlamps' two-layer construction, which is followed by the primary lamps. The boomerang-shaped rear combo lighting has an exquisitely detailed faceted pattern.

The interior of the 2023 Nissan X-Trail has a design that exudes toughness and superior craftsmanship. A bridge-like design on the center console houses a sizable cup holder and storage area. The armrest on the console lid is also functional. To improve internal comfort, roll-down sunshades are mounted on the rear windows.

The SUV is offered in 12 body colors, including Cardinal Red, which is modeled after the rich crimson tones of a rose, and five two-tone variants. Nissan's Tailor Fit, its premium tan Nappa leather, premium black fabric, and Cell-Cloth, a water-repellent material perfect for people who enjoy outdoor activities like skiing and boating, are the available seat materials.

Like the Europe-bound Nissan X-Trail, the Kicks is also powered by e-Power. Nissan Philippines will be showcasing the all-new Nissan Kicks e-Power at the 8th Philippine International Motor Show that will be held at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City on September 15 to 18.
