2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe to arrive in US dealerships this year

MANILA: The Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe maintains its status as a trendsetter in the compact segment, thanks to various improvements and upgraded standard equipment.

Sharpening the sporty character are the newly shaped front fascia, redesigned radiator grille with star pattern, and new rear diffuser. New graphics are featured in the LED High Performance headlamps and the LED taillights, both of which are standard equipment. The options for customization are expanded by the addition of the new paint colors Hyper Blue and Starling Blue as well as three new wheel designs in sizes up to 19 inches.

On the inside, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe is equipped with free-standing dual screens, including  a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch multimedia display. They create an incredibly open spatial architecture and provide a comprehensive high-tech experience. Nappa leather is standard on the steering wheel, and the AMG Line is the first model to have a heated steering wheel. The interior is further enhanced by new trim components in dark carbon look, open-pore brown linden wood, or brown microfiber.

There are three interior color options for the Progressive equipment line: Black, Macchiato Beige, and Sage Grey. The standard MB-Tex/microfiber seat upholstery in the AMG Line is also offered in Bahia Brown. The AMG Line offers a total of five upholstery colors: Black, Bahia Brown, Sage Grey, Titanium Grey Pearl/Black, and Red/Black.

The middle section of the MB-Tex/microfiber seat upholstery is made up of 65% recycled materials, while the bottom fabric is made up of 85% recycled materials. Using recycled materials is a crucial step toward CO2 neutrality. Mercedes-Benz targets to reduce CO2 emissions per passenger vehicle in the new vehicle fleet by at least 50% by the end of this decade. The target for the passenger car and van fleet is to achieve CO2-neutrality by 2039, with offsets throughout the entire automotive value chain.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe also comes standard with Highbeam Assist, a reversing camera, and the USB package. The Parking Package and Mirror Package are also provided as standard features. Other equipment is bundled into packages based on actual customer behavior.

The latest generation of MBUX is featured in the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe. It has three newly developed display modes: “Classic” gives all relevant driving information, “Sporty” comes with a dynamic tachometer, and “Discreet” is confined to the most important information. The instrument cluster and central display can be customized in accordance with the three modes and seven color worlds to suit the driver's preferences and the situation. All previous functions, including navigation, media, and phone, are available on the center display, which may be operated conveniently as a touchscreen.

The upgraded telematics system dazzles with a fresh look and improved functionality. Wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is a new feature. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe also comes with an additional USB-C port and increased USB charging capacity. All USB ports are now illuminated.

The “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant can now converse and learn more, thanks to the online services being enabled in the Mercedes me app. The MBUX voice assistant can also be used to explain car functions, and some actions can be activated even without saying “Hey Mercedes.”

The available Burmester surround sound system now offers the immersive Dolby Atmos audio experience, which gives music more space, clarity, and depth.  With Dolby Atmos, discrete audio objects or elements can be positioned in a three-dimensional soundscape and customized for any playback environment.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe also comes with advanced driver assistance technology. The upgraded Driver Assistance Package includes Lane Keeping Assist that is controlled much more easily by the active steering control. The latest version of the parking package allows longitudinal parking and provides 3D 360-degree visualization for camera-assisted parking.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe is powered by a mild hybrid four-cylinder gasoline engine with an additional 48-volt on-board power supply that improves agility at start-up and provides 13 more horsepower. The new belt-driven starter-generator significantly enhances comfort and experience by enabling low-vibration and low-noise engine starting as well as cruising with the combustion engine off.

The starter-generator recuperates during braking and acceleration, supplying the 48-volt battery and the 12-volt on-board network with power. This supports the combustion engine when accelerating. The new Eco Score 3.0 encourages drivers to practice fuel-saving habits through a comprehensive evaluation of the different driving phases.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe will roll out in US dealerships later this year.
