2024 Nismo Festival set for Dec.

MANILA: Nissan Motor Company Limited and Nissan Motorsports and Customizing Company Limited (NMC) are scheduled to bring back the Nismo (Nissan Motorsports International) Festival at the Fuji International Speedway. 

The 2024 iteration of the well-known automotive event is scheduled for December 1, and it will be showcasing the likes of the 270R and 400R Nismo cars, as well as the R34 GT-R Z-tune. Other vehicles from Nissan’s high-performance division, ranging from the March to the GT-R Nismo, will be appearing as well. 

Apart from the automotive exhibits, the event will also see several Nissan race cars hit the track for demonstration laps. The said cars include the marque’s Formula E vehicle and the carbon-neutral fuel-powered Super GT Nissan Z Nismo GT500, which will show the brand’s vision of future mobility. 

To note, the Nismo Festival is now in its 25th year. Just like its previous versions, it will also host the annual “Nismo Cars Parade Run,” which will see the Nissan high-performance and tuning division’s lineup of cars from the past up to the present. 

Other fun activities to be held at the event include race car exhibitions, driver talk shows, merchandise stores, and interactive experiences. 

This year’s Nismo festival is also made extra special as it celebrates the Nismo nameplate’s 40th anniversary. 

According to the Nissan Global website, Nismo’s roots can be traced back to 1963 with Genichiro Tahara’s victory at the Japanese Grand Prix with the Datsun Fairlady 1500. It wasn’t until 1984, that the entity gained the “Nismo” name through the merging of Nissan’s Opamma Works and Omori Works divisions. 

“We are immensely grateful for the dedication of our fans over the past four decades. The longevity of the Nismo brand is a testament to this devoted community. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you at the festival,” Nissan Motorsports Business Unit head and President of NMC Takao Katagiri said.
