3 new Toyota models featured at Singapore Motorshow 2023

MANILA: Toyota unveiled three new models today at the Singapore Motorshow 2023, welcoming the new year with vigor and excitement.

Toyota is introducing its new lineup of cars, including the Toyota Corolla Cross and the Toyota GR86, as well as the first public preview of the Toyota bZ4X, at the event, which runs until January 15 at Suntec Singapore.

Developed with purpose and driver needs in mind, each of the three models are world-class cars that would suit the different types of customers and their demands. Launching in Singapore, the new vehicles exhibit upgraded design elements and specs to match the expectations of its new customers.

Fans of the Toyota Corolla line can expect more on the new Toyota Corolla Cross. The Toyota Corolla Cross will be the first model to feature Toyota's fifth generation self-charging hybrid electric technology, which will provide more power and driving pleasure while consuming less fuel and emitting fewer emissions. As Toyota's newest SUV, the Toyota Corolla Cross is equipped with a premium interior and distinctive exterior that cater to the different lifestyles of its consumers while also giving it an uniquely sophisticated urban edge.

The Toyota Corolla Cross is a great choice for drivers looking for everyday functionality with a sense of style and comfort as it features a practical and spacious interior design. The functionality is enhanced especially for families, with the front seats having curved backs, providing more knee room to reach in and attend to a young child. The Toyota Corolla Cross also comes with an easily accessible, electrically operated trunk where groceries and other large items can be stored.

The expanded range of safety and driving assistance offered by advanced safety features and tools is also demonstrated, building on family safety and practicality. Customers will benefit whether driving or parking, thanks to improved accident risk detection and active safety features offered by the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS). The all-new Toyota Corolla Cross offers drivers a comprehensive experience with its small turning radius, which improves control and adaptability of the vehicle in various road situations. To continue the thrill and excitement in Singapore, Toyota also unveiled the GR86. The Toyota GR86 was created with the goal of providing the unique driving experience of a Gazoo Racing car. It does this by offering the innate responsiveness that results in an exceptional driving dynamics that is both direct and satisfying. The new Toyota GR86 features an innovative new Boxer engine with D-4S. The Toyota GR86 raises the engine's displacement from 2.0 to 2.4 liters, which allows it to produce greater power and speed. It also makes the engine lighter, smaller, and has a lower center of gravity. The Toyota GR86 is able to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in around 6.3 seconds.

An emphasis on aerodynamic structures and components including air outlets, side sill spoilers, and other items that would further boost steering responsiveness and stability further optimizes the Toyota GR86's driving and handling performance. This, along with the wide use of aluminum throughout the body structure gives an overall reduced weight, giving the Toyota GR86 a step-up in terms of speed.

Meanwhile, the Toyota bZ4X is the first model in the Toyota bZ series to showcase the brand's innovative approach to sport utility vehicles, which places a strong emphasis on greater sustainability and reimagining the driving experience. Future-looking electrification is the way to go, and Toyota is just getting started with the launch of the Toyota bZ4X in Singapore. With the Toyota bZ4X serving as a starting point, Toyota will continue to add new models to its portfolio as it recognizes the value of electrified vehicles. The Toyota bz4X is a strategic move for the brand's electrification journey and for building a better future for everyone.

The Toyota bZ4X will be the first Toyota model to use a BEV-dedicated platform based on the e-TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) philosophy, aiming to deliver exceptional driving performance with a low center of gravity and more rigidity.

The all-new electric SUV features a sleek look, roomy interior, and genuine SUV performance. Users will have better control and responsiveness when driving with the introduction of a new front-wheel drive system that makes use of separate electric motors on the front and rear axles. The Toyota bz4X also features a low instrument panel and a large panoramic roof to generate a freeing atmosphere. An omni-directional crash-response framework was used to protect passengers, batteries, and other vehicles, promoting the core focus of safety and performance. The BEV unit compartment is equipped with a cross framework firmly linking the left and right front-side elements to improve collision energy absorption in the unlikely case of an accident.

The Toyota Corolla Cross, Toyota GR86, and Toyota bZ4X is on display at Singapore Motorshow 2023, which runs from January 12 to 15 at Suntec Singapore.
