SPH Automobile Division Director and General Manager Norihide Takei noted that the company looks at “enriching people’s lives through mobility solutions that not only meet current needs but also anticipate future demands.”

“We recognize that staying attuned to local communities and providing innovative, environmentally friendly mobility is key to our mission. As the world evolves, so does our approach to mobility. Our efforts toward carbon neutrality go beyond simply replacing gasoline-powered vehicles with electric ones,” Takei emphasized.

    eVX Concept

The Suzuki eVX Concept measures 4,300 millimeters (mm) long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,600mm tall. Its futuristic design elements have been designed to lower the drag coefficient.

Inspired by the overarching concept of an 'Emotional Versatile Cruiser,' the Suzuki eVX features a progressive silhouette thanks to its upright posture, horizontal hood, long wheelbase, large wheels, and high ground clearance. Complementing the said elements are its all-LED illumination derived from the Suzuki sport utility vehicle lineage.

With a dedicated EV platform offering safe battery technology, the Suzuki eVX Concept is expected to offer class leading cabin comfort, convenience and connected features.

Per SPH, the Suzuki eVX Concept — scheduled to be released to the market by next year —offers a range of up to 550 kilometers (measured in modified Indian driving cycle).

“The eVX aims to carry forward Suzuki’s 4x4 legacy into the new electric era, delivering the true Suzuki SUV driving experience,” Takei said.

    Jimny Rhino Edition

Sharing the spotlight with the eVX was the Suzuki Jimny Rhino Edition.

Previewed in both 3- and 5-Door options, the said offerings feature specialized accessories that boosts the nameplate’s rugged appeal.

The said vehicles are outfitted with a distinct front grille, under garnishes for the front bumper and sides, mud flaps, and a Rhino decal,

Both are powered by 1.5-liter gasoline engines that can dish out a peak of 118 horses and 130 Newton-meters. The said mill is matched to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox.

XL7 Hybrid Black Upgrade, Ertiga Hybrid, S-Presso Expedition Kit

Also displayed at SPH’s booth are the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid Black Upgrade and the Ertiga Hybrid.

The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid Black Upgrade wears a new black front grille and black alloy wheels, a rear upper spoiler and sports emblems.

On the other hand, the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is outfitted with a new radiator grille design, a sports emblem, rear bumper scuff plate and door sill guards.

Lastly, a dressed-up Suzuki S-Presso was also seen at the event.

Sporting the Expedition Kit, the hatchback boasts a front upper grille garnish, as well as side and wheel arc claddings.

    Other developments

During his speech, Mr. Takei emphasized Suzuki’s commitment to advancing mobility through a variety of groundbreaking partnerships.

Among the collaborations discussed were those with TIER IV (for the development of autonomous driving technologies), its contribution to the HAKUTO-R commercial lunar exploration program (which underscores Suzuki’s ability to drive innovation across diverse industries), SkyDrive (urban air mobility) and M2 Labo (development of Mobile Mover robot, specifically designed for agricultural use).

To conclude his presentation, Takei reaffirmed Suzuki’s dedication to a sustainable and innovative future.

“Whether through hybrid vehicles, autonomous driving, or even flying cars, Suzuki is committed to building a future that is exciting, innovative, and sustainable for everyone,” he added.
