Fee structure eyed to support infrastructure improvements

ACMobility to implement paid charging by Dec. 12

MANILA: The days of enjoying charging electric vehicles for free are numbered as ACMobility will start to implement fees in their facilities by next month.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When will ACMobility start implementing EV charging fees?

The company will start implementing EV charging rates to users beginning December 12.
  • How much will customers have to pay to use the ACMobility charging facilities?

Clients need to pay P28.50 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for AC and P35 per kWh for DC charging across the Ayala subsidiary’s EV stations in Metro Manila.
  • As approved by the Department of Energy (DOE), EV owners need to pay P28.50 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for AC and P35 per kWh for DC charging across the Ayala subsidiary’s EV stations in Metro Manila starting December 12.

Such an initiative is eyed to create a more sustainable and dependable charging network that EV owners can rely on as the firm has a goal of establishing more than 250 charging points in over 100 locations by year end.

"Introducing charging fees enables ACMobility to reinvest in our network, allowing us to maintain and expand our infrastructure while delivering a consistently high-quality service," ACMobility Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala shared.

"True to our commitment of providing the best value to our customers, we aim to make every charging experience as accessible, reliable, and convenient —- enabling worry-free journeys across NCR and beyond,” he added.

In a statement, the company explained that by monetizing charging services, ACMobility can continue to give exceptional user experience.

“Each ACMobility EV Charging Station is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for fast, efficient, and secure charging, along with an intuitive interface that minimizes downtime. Meanwhile, through the EVRO app, users can locate available and compatible stations, monitor their charging session, and make cashless payments seamlessly,” ACMobility shared.

“The introduction of fees also encourages timely sessions, allowing more users the opportunity to charge. By providing reliable customer support during operating hours, ACMobility ensures drivers receive dependable assistance whenever they need it,” it added.

Further, ACMobility mentioned that it is looking at further enhancing its charging infrastructure by integrating the latest technologies to serve consumers better — with an ultimate goal of creating a seamless charging experience for all EV owners.

With that, ACMobility is inviting the public to make the shift and are encouraged to choose the company’s EV charging stations “for a superior charging experience that prioritizes their time and investment.”

"We express our gratitude to Filipinos for choosing to charge with us and through our initiatives, we remain committed to supporting their charging needs,” Head of Mobility Infrastructure Carla Buencamino was quoted as saying.

“Every new charging station brings us closer to fulfilling our mission of advancing sustainable transportation across the country. Together, we look forward to building a cleaner and greener future for generations to come,” she added.
