ADVISORY: MMDA reminds authorized EDSA Busway users to be cautious after recent incident
MANILA: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has reminded authorized users of the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) Busway to observe caution when entering the lane after a recent incident saw a bus hit the railing of the MRT 3 Santolan-southbound station.

On that note, vehicles approved to use the bus carousel lane are reminded to check and ensure that there are no incoming buses before making their way into the EDSA Busway.
“Although authorized vehicles are allowed on the EDSA Busway in accordance with the Department of Transportation, drivers must be careful at all times and do not drive fast to avoid accidents,” MMDA wrote in a press release.
Based on the revised guideline released by the agency, the EDSA Busway lane can only be used by public utility buses that ply the EDSA Busway route; ambulances; fire trucks; vehicles of the Philippine National Police; as well as service vehicles for the EDSA Busway project; which include construction, security, janitorial, and maintenance service vehicles.
The EDSA Busway lane can also be used by the President, the Vice President, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court Chief Justice.
The passage and use of unauthorized vehicles, including government-marked vehicles and red plate vehicles, on the EDSA Busway is strictly prohibited.
