Aion enters PH market
Brand’s initial lineup consists of the Y and ES all-electric vehicles
MANILA: Aion, under the exclusive distributorship of Dangdang New Energy Auto Service Limited Corporation, has entered the Philippine market with two electric vehicle (EV) models.

In the Philippines, the Aion Y has a price ranging from P1.498 million-P1.698 million.The first is a five-seater fully electric crossover dubbed the Aion Y, which is capable of producing up to 201 horsepower (hp) and 225 Newton-meters of torque. The EV crossover was also kitted out with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which provides a range of over 490 kilometers (km), according to the New European Driving Cycle.
Other notable features of the model include a comprehensive advanced driver-assist suite, a 32-color ambient interior lighting system, LED exterior lighting fixtures, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof.
As of its introduction to the Philippines, the Aion Y has a price ranging from P1.498 million-P1.698 million across two variants.
The second vehicle, meanwhile, is a four-door sedan called the ES. At maximum, the model can produce up to 134 hp and 225 Nm of torque. It can also cover a range of up to 442 km from a single charge.
Pricing of the ES starts at P1.358 million.
The brand’s entry into the local scene was also marked by the opening of its first-ever flagship dealership in the country. The said facility is located along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City, and it features modern amenities and a spacious showroom that’s able to display multiple vehicles at once.
The new outlet is also equipped to handle aftersales services. It boasts several car bays, and it can function as a distribution center for spare parts and other related products.
To note, Aion is a sub-brand of the Guangzhou Automobile Group Company (GAC). Internationally, it is called GAC Aion, and it was founded in 2017 as GAC New Energy Automobile prior to adopting its current name in 2020.
The Aion Y and ES are just two of the many models produced by the said China-based EV specialist. In other markets, the GAC-owned brand offers the LX mid-size crossover, V compact crossover, Hyper Ace coupe, ⁶and Hyper SSR supercar.
