All Build, Build, Build projects are back on track

MANILA: Even as President Duterte keeps the National Capital Region in GCQ (general community quarantine), the administration has signaled the resumption of all Build, Build, Build, projects around the country.
Malacañang sees this as one of the main programs that will help the country bounce back after this terrible bout with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Kasama po sa ating stratehiya kung paano tayo babangon sa trahedya sa Covid-19 ang ‘Build, Build, Build’ at kasama na po diyan ‘yung mga flagship projects natin. All systems go para sa projects (Part of our strategy to rise from this COVID-19 tragedy is Build, Build, Build and part of that are our flagship projects),” said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Majority of these are infrastructure projects like the NLEX-SLEX Connector, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3, the R-1 Bridge Project, the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway Project, and the Subic Freeport Expressway Project.
“In-allow na po ng IATF yung konstruksyon muli ng priority projects natin at lahat po iyan ay ongoing na ngayon (The IATF has allowed the construction of priority projects and it is ongoing),” added Roque.
In related news, the DOF (Department of Finance) has signed loan agreements with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) for two flagship infrastructure projects – the Php 57-billion loan to support the Cebu-Mactan Fourth Bridge and the Coastal Road Construction in the Visayas, and the Php 18.5-billion supplemental funding for the Davao City Bypass Construction Project.
Close to Php 1 trillion would be spent this year for the implementation of the Build, Build, Build program.
