All-New Honda Mobilio, Becomes the New Star Performer of Honda Philippines Family

MANILA: Last year evaluations have revealed an interesting fact for Honda Philippines, its all-new Honda Mobilio that landed the shores in April 2015 has sold as many as 3000 units. Also, the car in its every year of launch won two prestigious awards, the 2015 Best Compact Multi-purpose Vehicle and 2015-2016 Best Safety Features of MPV.

All these achievements for a single car is a big thing, thus making Honda a proud manufacturer of current best selling MPV in Philippines. A closer look at the sales charts further reveals that 25 percent contribution of Mobilio in Honda Philippines 2015 sales. Seeing the way Honda Mobilio is climbing success charts, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has decided to add two more trims to the already four existing variants.

Honda Mobilio new variants- 1.5 V CVT Modulo Utility and 1.5 V CVT Platinum, like the rest are powered by the 1.5-litre Chain Drive SOHC i-VTEC 16V engine, generating a maximum power of 120 PS at 6,600 rpm with a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. As the name suggest they are mated with Honda in-house Earth Dreams Technology (leading to low fuel diet and CO2 emission) and Continuously Variable Transmission.

Talking about appearance, both the Utility and Platinum Mobilio variants look different from the available trims. The Mobilio Platinum variant looks sportier with new inputs like door visor, door handle cover, sports pedal, side step garnish, rear bumper garnish, trunk tray, and shark fin antenna (not present in any other trim). The Mobilio Utility variant looks simpler but ranks high on the benefits, its list of amenities include good boot space, seatback utility box, bumper protector and convenience hook.

Apart from adding two new trims to Mobilio, Honda is also working hard on its other cars sitting in different segments. Like Honda Jazz, to which it has recently added a limited Edition MUGEN variant, also Honda sports car, the CR-Z is now officially available in Philippines. For the sedan lovers, there is nothing like the 2016 Honda Civic whose launch is still awaited in the country. The car recently won the North American Car of the Year award, surpassing the likes of Mazda MX-5 and Chevrolet Malibu.
