All-new Suzuki Celerio boasts bigger profile, more advanced features

MANILA: Because of its compact dimensions and roomy interior, the Suzuki Celerio has been a popular choice among first-time car buyers.  It is small but incredible, as some would say.

Now, Suzuki Philippines (SPH) rolls out the all-new Celerio. Like its predecessor, the vehicle boasts a sleek design that exudes power, dynamism, and exterior elegance, as well as a spacious interior and agile handling that make the driving experience more enjoyable.

In a statement, Suzuki Philippines General Manager for Automobile Norihide Takei said, “The all-new Celerio has evolved into a compact car that will make people's life easier, more convenient, and will allow the expression of one's personality in an age where diversity is expected. We are confident that the new Celerio will exceed expectations of customers who seek both practicality and individuality.”

The all-new Celerio features a three-dimensionally curved surface with a "liquid expression" that evokes a water surface, which is different from the previous boxy-type body. The extended rear fenders, together with the rear combination lamps mounted on the shoulder lines, highlight width and sturdiness. The vehicle also comes with 15-inch black alloy wheels, an inch larger than the previous model.

On the inside, the instrument panel that comes with uniquely designed vent grilles in the center and sides give the hatchback an energizing vibe. The Celerio is also equipped with a 6.2-inch touchscreen audio unit with a clear and responsive anti-glare touchscreen, Weblink 2.0, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, and audio controls on the steering wheels for a more pleasant and convenient driving experience.

The new Celerio, like its predecessor, provides plenty of interior space for both people and luggage. The car has a 295-liter luggage capacity and 60:40 split folding rear seats that allow additional storage room for larger objects.

The Celerio is powered by a 1.0-liter K10C Dualjet engine that churns out 67hp and 89Nm of torque.This engine achieves a high level of balanced dynamic performance and efficiency by producing comprehensive thermal efficiency benefits stemming from a greater compression ratio, dual injection system, and friction reduction. The all-new Celerio has a fuel efficiency rating of 28.25kpl, according to the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP).

This fuel-efficient hatchback is available with a five-speed manual transmission or an Auto Gear Shift (AGS), an automated manual transmission with an Intelligent Shift Control Actuator that automatically controls the shift and clutch to make manual driving more convenient.

Aside from the AGS transmission, the Engine Auto Stop Start System (EASS) is one of the most noteworthy features of the all-new Celerio. This feature turns off the engine when the vehicle is idle and meets certain conditions to reduce fuel consumption, exhaust pollutants, and engine noise.

The new Suzuki hatchback also offers a wide range of advanced safety features for the driver's peace of mind. Suzuki's Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) concept is at the heart of the body design, giving a structure that optimally absorbs and disperses energy in the case of a collision. The Celerio also has an anti-lock brake system (ABS) and an electronic stability program (ESP) to assist the driver in maintaining directional control during sharp turns and wheel slippage. It is also equipped with dual airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, rear parking sensors, and hill-hold control.

The all-new Celerio comes in four colors: Arctic White, Glistening Gray, Fire Red, and Speedy Blue Metallic. Prices are at P708,000 for the GL MT and P754,000 for the GL AGS.
