An Apple Car is the Future
MANILA: This headline must have bought a bizarre look on your faces because using MacBooks and iPhones are common sight but driving an Apple car would be rarest. If to be believed a German publication, BMW and Apple have come together to develop this car which would be based on BMW i3 electric car platform.
Earlier it was rumored that American Apple Inc. and German Bavarians have shacked hands for software collaboration for infotainment systems but the latest reports have confirmed that the Apple CEO, Tim Cook and other senior managers have visited BMW's Leipzig plant to check the i3 production line. It is also chirped that Apple is interested in the carbon-fiber construction of i3 with electric powertrain. But, at the same time it is felt that BMW is reluctant in disclosing its carbon-fiber technology.
The insiders have also reported that the project is codenamed as “Project Titan” and already hundreds of employees have started working on it, primarily on software systems such as CarPlay. But, still there is a lot to be done as Apple is a new player in this field of automotive experts. With all said and done, what is left mentioning are the characteristics of this American brand which made it so successful; the entire feel and dedication while designing or developing a product and an eye to foresee so that they stay ahead of their competitors. Now, should I ask the automobile brands to beware or the other electronic brands to buck up?
