Aston Martin and Red Bull Join Hands to Develop a Supercar
MANILA: This Red Bull is not the one which would give you wings (the drink) but this is the Red Bull Technologies, a different entity which has come up to join hands with the legendary Aston Martin to develop a supercar which would appear as a rival of McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari.
This model is due for production in the year 2018 and is currently spearheaded by Adrian Newey, the Formula 1 designer who is currently employed by Red Bull Technologies. “It’s something that Adrian is keen to do as a legacy project. At the moment our focus is on being a Formula 1 constructor, but as we see more technology cross over with the road car market, it’s something that will organically grow,” said the Red Bull Racing's Head, Christian Horner.
Along with Newey's aerodynamic dexterity, this supercar may inherit Mercedes-Benz sourced powertrain and electronics and then get a good chance to stand against the world's hardcore performance vehicles. Further, it cannot be said that weather it will be a track only model or not- as details are scarce but this is for sure that the upcoming model from this partnership will defiantly be hot over wheels.
This news would make you wonder as where the Aston Martin's Vulcan will fit into all these. So, it is reported that Aston Martin and Newey desire to keep the Vulcan and this new project separate, but some elements of the Vulcan’s design and its hardware can be seen over the Red Bull co-developed model.
