Aston Martin applies design expertise to new luxury house in Japan

MANILA: As part of a new partnership, Aston Martin will use its design expertise in the Japanese real estate industry to create the first luxury residence in Asia to be designed by the British ultra-luxury performance brand.

The design and construction of No. 001 Minami Aoyama, a breathtaking private residence in the highly desirable Omotesando area of Minami Aoyama, best known as one of Tokyo's foremost architectural and style centers, marks the beginning of the partnership between Aston Martin and Japanese concierge leader Vibroa.

Impressions of the house, which includes an automotive gallery, wine cellar, home theater, gym, and private spa, have been released. Aston Martin's design principles are evident throughout the house. The renowned designers of Aston Martin are in charge of the exterior design of the house while working with a local architect. They are also responsible for the interior styling of the property, including the careful selection of furniture.

“The influence of Tokyo culture, with its amazing history and style, holds an important creative space within our design studio. I see fashion, architectural and even culinary references being considered by our team when developing their work, so its presence can really be felt within our practice. We thought we would return the favour through our first ultra-luxury collaboration in Asia with Vibroa by tailoring our Aston Martin real estate design principles specifically to the No. 001 Minami property,” Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman stated. “Outside, we’ve created a striking architectural form with clean lines and seamless boundaries so the residents can connect with and experience this unique location. Inside, we’ve catered to the senses, using a holistic combination of elements and materials to create a calm and relaxing space for them to retreat.”

The four-story house, which will be completed in November 2023, has already been sold to a private buyer. It is Aston Martin's first real estate design collaboration in Asia, in addition to the Sylvan Rock private residential estate and the exclusive Aston Martin Residences in USA which are now 97% sold out ahead of the premium waterfront tower's scheduled launch in summer 2023.

Aston Martin is attempting to take advantage of the market's huge commercial potential and rising customer demand, and the new design collaboration with Vibroa is a part of Aston Martin's major strategic growth plans in Japan.
