What powers the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla?
The 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo bespoke V8 engine combined with three motors and a 150kW/400V battery. How many units of the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla were produced?
Only 999 units of the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla were produced. This unique two-door British sports car is Aston Martin's first plug-in hybrid model as well as its first model with a mid-engine setup.
According to Aston Martin, the Valhalla represents the brand's involvement in Formula One, establishes industry-leading benchmarks for performance, dynamics, and driving pleasure, and accelerates the shift from internal combustion to hybrid to fully electric powertrains.
Only 999 units of the Valhalla were produced, five of which are available in Singapore. The supercar is displayed at the Aston Martin showroom in Singapore until today, February 20, where fans and potential buyers may see it firsthand.
The 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla underpins the chassis, aerodynamic, and technological expertise for Formula One. The only objective of the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla is to immerse drivers in a new supercar driving experience — one that raises the bar for driving fun, thrill, and engagement.
The Valhalla is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo bespoke V8 engine combined with three motors and a 150kW/400V battery. This setup produces a total output of 1,012ps.
When in EV mode, only the front axle receives power from the battery. Other driving modes distribute battery power between the front and rear axles, with the proportion given to each axle changing constantly in response to driving needs. The full force of the V8 engine can be supplemented with 100% of battery power in certain circumstances for maximum performance.
An all-new eight-speed DCT distributes the power to the wheels. This innovative paddle-shift gearbox was made exclusively for the hybrid era of Aston Martin. It features e-reverse, which uses the electric motors and eliminates the need for a traditional reverse gear, saving weight. The transmission also has an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential on the rear axle for optimal traction and handling agility.
Furthermore, electrical power is used to improve low speed control, response, and to enable reversing. The hybrid system also works in conjunction with the V8 engine to give phenomenal standing start acceleration and in-gear response. This is made possible by the instantaneous torque from the E-Motors. The ability of the E-Motor and V8 engine to run several gears in the DCT simultaneously allows for a maximum torque delivery of 1,000Nm.
The fastest speed that the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla can go in EV-only mode is 130kph, and its zero-emission range is 15km. The Valhalla can accelerate from a standstill to 100kph in about 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed 350kph.
The Valhalla offers the ideal balance of hypercar performance and advanced powertrain, driving dynamics, and distinctively sophisticated design materials to truly redefine the supercar segment. It features a new carbon fiber structure and aerodynamics formed by the groundbreaking philosophy first used in the Aston Martin Valkyrie.
The suspension of the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla features a pushrod setup up front and a multi-link system at the rear, with Multimatic Variable Spring rate and Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) Damper units for exceptional performance on road and track.
High-performance Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes with brake-by-wire technology ensure excellent stopping power. The Valhalla is also fitted with 20-inch wheels up front and 21-inch wheels at the rear, covered in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.
In comparison to other cars in its class, the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla offers an unparalleled power-to-weight ratio with a target dry weight of less than 1550kg. A different kind of weight produced by aerodynamic downforce also contributes to the Valhalla's unrivaled dynamic capabilities. The 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla uses a combination of active aerodynamic surfaces, notably the front surfaces and rear wing, and smart management of underbody airflow through striking venturi tunnels, drawing on the aerodynamic concept of the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The Valhalla's precisely sculpted aerodynamic surfaces produce a remarkable 600kg of downforce at 241kph, providing strong high cornering capabilities and unwavering stability.
The pursuit of downforce requires uncompromising functionality, but by expertly engineering the airflow underneath the car, the Aston Martin design team was left with a sleek upper body surface, which was used to develop an iconic mid-engined shape that is both unique and distinctly Aston Martin. The 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla's predominantly carbon fiber body marries utility and aesthetics in a way that is suitable for a new generation of mid-engined supercars without being compromised by the requirement for aggressive wings that protrude into the airstream. The start and finish of every trip are dramatically highlighted by spectacular forward-hinged dihedral doors, while ingress and egress are made easier by roof cutouts.
The sleek look of the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla is further highlighted by a wraparound signature grille, round matrix LED headlights, a toned-down rear diffuser, angular side skirts, and sharp wing mirrors.
On the inside, the 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla features a driver-centric pared back cockpit design. The Aston Martin HMI system features a central touchscreen display that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The footwells are raised in order to achieve a low hip-to-heel seating position reminiscent of a Formula One car.
The 2023 Aston Martin Valhalla also comes with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems such as Auto Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Active Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear View Parking Camera with Surround View option.
