Audi A4 Quattro Makes a Teutonic Entry in Europe

MANILA: When we talk about 4x4s, the concept is usually applied to larger sized vehicles that are generally used for off-roading purposes. Nevertheless, due to their reputation as an innovator in the automobile industry the German brand Audi has brought the same technology that has underpinned SUVs and off-roaders to their compact executive vehicle the A4 Quattro. Presented to the US buyers at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, the all-new Audi A4 Quattro has now been launched in the German markets. Known for its distinctive AWD (all-wheel-drive), the Quattro is also one of the few luxury executive vehicle models to include such a technology. This makes the vehicle far more versatile than any average executive car and enhances its ‘treadability’ beyond the confines of luxury automobiles.

Quattro Interior

The new A4 Quattro is more of a wagon than a coupe and presents a highly advanced touring automobile that is perfect for cross-country drives with your family. The new vehicle is presented with a choice of two engines for now with one being a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. Another turbodiesel drivetrain is speculated to make its appearance in the market with a 3.0-litre mill, but that might happen much later this year. The only choice for transmission, however, is a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission which comes as standard across all variants. Other features that distinguish the Quattro from the standard A4 Crossover is larger sized roof rails, xenon headlamps, 17-inch alloys and electric tailgate. The Quattro’s ground clearance is also 1.3 inches higher than the standard vehicle and the manufacturers claim an added fuel economy of almost 0.3 liters for every 100 kilometers.

The prices for two variants have also been revealed by Audi. The gasoline variant starts at a price of EUR 49,750 (approx PhP 25.9 million) and the TDI version starts at EUR 54400 (approx PhP 28.3 million). The Philippines buyers will have to wait before the Audi A4 Quattro is launched in their homeland, or import it directly from Europe for now.
