Audi E-tron GT is brand's first all-electric performance car
MANILA: Audi recently unveiled its first fully electric performance car, the Audi E-Tron GT. This cutting-edge model comes in two variants: the E-Tron GT Quattro and the RS E-Tron GT.
The E-Tron GT Quattro can deliver up to 522hp and 472lb-ft of torque. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from standstill to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the RS E-Tron GT produces a power output of up to 637hp and a torque of up to 612lb-ft. The car can rocket from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.
Both cars are powered by a lithium-ion battery system that can store up to 85kWh of energy net. The battery charging flaps are integrated behind the front wheels. It can be plugged to alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). The Audi E-Tron GT Quattro can consume around 19.6 to 18.8kWh for every 100 km, while the RS E-Tron GT uses 20.2 to 19.3kWh for the same distance.
In Europe, Audi offers an E-Tron charging service through 200,000 public charging ports. The standard E-tron GT charger has an 11 kW rating, but Audi is also set to market an optional charger putting out 22kW.
Although these cars have four doors, Audi classifies them as coupes. Both vehicles sport a sleek and dynamic exterior design which is accentuated by a long wheelbase and large wheels. The E-Tron GT Quattro is equipped with LED headlights as standard, while the RS E-Tron GT has built-in matrix LED headlights.
The two E-tron models both have a sporty interior, highlighted by the Audi virtual cockpit with a multimedia interface (MMI) touch monitor above the three-dimensional instrument panel. The RS E-Tron GT features an onboard ambient lighting package which displays an “E-Tron” emblem on the right side.
Both cars are installed with sporty low front seats with electric eight-way adjustment for the E-Tron GT Quattro and 14-way adjustment and seat heating for the RS E-Tron GT. The seats are made of sustainable materials such as artificial leather, Kaskade, and Dinamica, which were recycled from old plastic bottles, textiles, and excess fibers from selvages. For both models, customers can request to upgrade the seats to the Sport Seats Pro with 18-way adjustment, adjustable side bolsters, climate control, and massage function.
Audi Sport also offers an Audi exclusive program where customers can request for personalized interior material, stitching, and seat belt functions.
