Auto China 2024: Chery to unveil QPower architecture

MANILA: Chery will unveil its QPower architecture at the upcoming Auto China 2024.

Per the local arm of the Chinese car brand, Chery QPower is Chery’s 4.0 comprehensive architecture and is the result of 26 years of powertrain technology and advancements.

Chery’s QPower — the Wuhu-headquartered brand pointed out — covers mainstream energy types such as internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and battery-electric vehicles.

The said architecture focuses on making powertrains more efficient, environmentally friendly, and technologically advanced. On that note, “the performance capabilities of various Chery automobile models are poised for significant enhancement in the forthcoming period.”

Here are some enhancements promised by Chery’s QPower architecture.

Hybrid modes of Chery PHEV

Future Chery PHEVs will be fitted with various driving modes namely single-motor pure electric mode, dual-motor pure electric mode, series range-extending mode, and parallel drive mode.

The first two modes improve urban-area driving while the other two focus on highway and inclined driving conditions.

Refined hybrid technology

Chery looks to redefine the standards of hybrid technology by refining its own hybrid system.

The brand’s third-generation hybrid technology integrates specialized components, including a hybrid engine, transmission, battery, and a battery management system.

In unison, they achieve a thermal efficiency exceeding 44.5 percent, an extensive range exceeding 1400 kilometers (km), fuel consumption of 4.2 liters per 100 km, acceleration of 4.26 seconds per 100 km, and enhanced battery materials boasting higher energy density and improved low-temperature performance.

Elevated safety standards

Chery also invested in elevating the safety of its vehicles and has established a cutting-edge automotive crash laboratory.

The crash lab is equipped with state-of-the-art crash testing equipment imported from leading countries such as Germany, Spain, France, and the United States.

Auto China 2024

Auto China 2024 will take place in two events (China International Exhibition Center New Venue and China International Exhibition Center) and will run from April 25-May 4.
