Auto Expo 2020: Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e coupe-like SUV concept previewed

MANILA: Alongside the Swift Hybrid, Maruti Suzuki has also previewed the much-awaited and highly-anticipated Futuro-e concept at the Auto Expo 2020 taking place in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The conceptual SUV gives us an indication of what the automaker's future holds in terms of SUVs, electric vehicles, and autonomous driving tech.

Starting with the appearance, the Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e looks like a coupe-like SUV, something we haven't seen from the automaker yet. The design of the Futuro-e has been prepared by the automaker itself. Besides, it also and gives a glimpse of the carmaker's future utility vehicles, asserts Maruti Suzuki. The copyright for the name was already filed by Maruti Suzuki a few months ago, something similar done with the Future-S concept that was displayed at the Auto Expo 2020 back in time.

On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e concept sports a minimalistic layout with blue and ivory colors giving the cabin a light and modern appeal. The steering wheel is actually not a wheel and carries a spaceship-controller-like look. Then there are large and wide screens forming the dashboard of the concept. The Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e gets four seats, two in the front and two in the rear row. Thanks to the autonomous driving tech, the front two seats can be turned around to have a conversation with the rear passengers.

If much of the Futuro-e turns into a production model, we will see a Maruti Suzuki car like never before. However, this thing will take some good amount of time to become a reality and hit the Indian roads, or even roads around the globe.
