Toyota
Toyota is one of the brands displaying new models at GIIAS. At a livestreamed pre-GIIAS 2024 press conference, Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) previewed the Indonesian-spec sixth-generation XW60 Prius, which it will display at the auto show.
TAM President Hiroyuki Ueda presented two variants of the Prius as a hybrid electric vehicle variant and a plug-in hybrid version. The brand will also showcase the Rangga (known in the Philippines as the next-generation Tamaraw) at GIIAS 2024.
Another Toyota model confirmed to show up at the forthcoming motoring event is the Toyota Fortuner Hybrid.
Scant details were released regarding the Japanese marque's mid-size sports utility vehicle (SUV) electrified variant, but it is touted to bring an evolved design.
Power-wise, it will utilize a 48-volt mild-hybrid system based on the SUV's 2.8-liter turbodiesel mill. At the most, the Fortuner hybrid can produce up to 201 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque.
The aforementioned power figures are the same as the regular internal combustion-only Fortuner, but Toyota promises it will provide better fuel efficiency.
Nissan
Nissan, under the distributorship of PT Nissan Motor Distributor Indonesia (NMDI), has previewed the all-new Serena e-Power via a live-streamed press conference held a day before the official kick-off of GIIAS 2024.
The Japanese minivan's internal combustion-only version is already sold in Indonesia, but the new version has the same propulsion system as the Nissan Kicks e-Power.
As such, the Indonesian market is getting the efficiency benefits of an integrated gasoline and electric motor, together with the space of a three-row, family-friendly model.
Hyundai
Hyundai will launch the Kona Electric at the GIIAS 2024, following the model’s preview through a live-streamed press conference.
The new model's pre-order books are already open for the Indonesian market and it will also be available for public test drives at the GIIAS 2024.
The Hyundai-made electric vehicle (EV) has a range of up to 600 kilometers. It is also capable of handling over-the-air updates and it is likewise equipped with a vehicle-to-load capacity.

From a single charge, the subcompact Aion Y has a range of up to 490 kilometers. It also has an array of advanced driver-assist features and an attractive modern design.
GAC Aion is distributed in Indonesia by the Indomobil Group.
The brands mentioned above are just some of the ones confirmed to showcase new models at the GIIAS 2024. The list, however, is by no means exhaustive, and others may display new rides at the Indonesian car show tomorrow, so stay tuned for more updates.
