Brace yourselves for the Abarth 124 Spider & Alfa Romeo 4C

MANILA: Petromax Enterprises, a company that deals in Abarth and Alfa Romeo vehicles in the Philippines, is all set to bring two really exciting Italian sports cars in the country. As you would have already guessed by the title of the story, yes, the two cars are the Abarth 124 Spide and the Alfa Romeo 4C. The two Italian beauties should be landing on the Filipino shores by August 2019. As a matter of fact, Petromax Enterprises had already started accepting pre-orders for the Alfa Romeo 4C and Abarth 124 Spider last year itself.

About the Abarth 124 Spider, the sports car is the result of a partnership with Mazda. Moreover, the car is built at Mazda’s own facility in Hiroshima, Japan. The Abarth 124 Spider shared the same underpinning, interior, and many other elements with the Mazda MX-5.

The differences between the Mazda MX-5 and Abarth 124 Spide include FIAT’s own engine instead of Mazda’s motor, front & rear end, and larger cargo capacity. Coming to the Philippines in the “Spider” guise, the part-Italian beauty houses a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that makes 164 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 250 Nm. Both six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions are available.

Moving on to the Alfa Romeo 4C, the car has been made possible due to the partnership between Alfa Romeo and Maserati. The Alfa Romeo 4C attains a perfect 50:50 weight ratio along with a 1,050-kilogram curb weight thanks to the Formula One-style carbon fibre monocoque construction and an aluminium chassis. The engine here is a mid-mounted turbocharged unit. Power figures show 240 hp of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The mill on the Alfa Romeo 4C comes mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

There is no information regarding the pricing of both the cars yet. However, with August 2019 not too far away, we’re pretty excited for the two Italian beauties to bolster the Filipino roads. How about you?
