Brembo PH brakes for digital pivot, now available on Lazada
MANILA: To be honest, said AutoPerformance Ph President Francis Aguila, the company had already seen the wisdom of going digital long before the COVID-19 pandemic that now leaves no choice for many enterprises but to pivot or perish.
But now, the official and exclusive Philippine importer and distributor (since 2012) of Brembo, the Italy-headquartered manufacturer of high-performance automotive and motorcycle brake systems and related components, is rolling out a three-pronged attack to make its products more readily available to customers.
“It can’t be just all talk and brochures,” Aguila (in photo below) underscored in a virtual press conference yesterday. “None of that matters if people are having problems getting Brembo.”
It starts with the international bremboparts.com website, where “customers can find exactly what spare part is needed for their car.” The “comprehensive and user-friendly online catalog” lets customers look for parts based on vehicle details, official equipment part number, or even (in the case of brake discs) size. A dealer locator function will be made available soon as well.
Meanwhile, the autoperformanceph.com site has been redesigned to be a repository of brake-related information where any one “can get tips on everything brake related – from brake system maintenance tips, experiences of actual Brembo users, and how to choose the right product.”
Lastly, Brembo is now officially on online marketplace Lazada via a dedicated “flagship store,” to enable the “easy and hassle-free” purchase of the brand’s products. Numerous entries for popular vehicles are there, with “more part numbers… added every week.” Maintained the company in a release, “We are proud to say that we are the first country to implement a Brembo Official Store in the region, with the support of Brembo's regional office.” Shipping is free.
For added assistance, a dedicated help desk is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., accessible through Brembo website or the AutoPerformance Ph Facebook page. A customer service expert is on hand to reply to queries from technical support, to finding a nearby dealer. The help desk also entertains dealer applications for qualified wholesalers, retailers, workshops and fleets.
Replying to a question from ZIGWHEELS.PH, Aguila said that the business has been “hit hard” by the pandemic like everything, and pointed out that even before the pandemic, a challenge was already posed by the Taal Volcano eruption early in the year.
Though acknowledging the business interruption, he explained, “Strangely enough, we’ve seen a similar graph with Brembo worldwide.” While the first and second quarters of the year were bad, business picked up in the third quarter. “We’re still down, but not by much, maybe 10%. We’ve done a lot to get customer loyalty both for the brand, and for our service.”
The company currently has 130-plus dealers nationwide — a number it hopes to grow to 300 by the end of 2021.
