The Bugatti Chiron Profilée auction was the last chance to purchase a new Bugatti powered by the renowned W16 engine directly from the Atelier in Molsheim, France, since production of the Chiron models, the W16 Mistral, and the Bolide had sold out. Bidding was intense both in-person and over the phone since such a significant piece of Bugatti history was at stake.
“With just one Chiron Profilée ever set to exist, it was important for us to offer the opportunity to acquire this piece of history to as many people as possible and we were excited with the enthusiasm of the global automotive community for this very special car. Bidders clearly recognized the importance and value of the Chiron Profilée, with an intense rivalry and a price that places this car firmly into the history books,” Bugatti Automobiles Managing Director Hendrik Malinowski stated.

The name “Profilée” was derived from one of Jean Bugatti's earliest creations, a specific Type 46 model known as Surprofilée, which had a more streamlined design with a sleek, sweeping tail. In the same way that that vehicle continues to play a significant role in Bugatti history, the Bugatti Chiron Profilée has now established its own place in the 114-year-old carmaker's legacy.
The Bugatti Chiron Profilée is powered by the same 1,500ps quad-turbo 8.0-liter engine as the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, but the automotive solitaire is completely unique in its appearance and its detailing. The W16 engine's vital cooling is provided by the sweeping fixed rear wing, which is directly attached to the car's body and offers stability at high speeds. The exterior color, Argent Atlantique, has never been and will never be used on any other Bugatti Chiron model. The Bugatti Chiron Profilée is also the only Chiron available with a woven leather finish in the interior. The horseshoe-style wheels are another exclusive feature to the Bugatti Chiron Profilée. They were inspired by the iconic horseshoe grille on Bugatti vehicles.
